So, I have a 3.8 undergrad gpa from a university (nowhere that exciting or fantastic, but a 4 year university), graduated magna cum laude, and did a winter semester abroad in Germany.

I start volunteering at a hospital next month and plan on asking to shadow a doctor or two after a bit of experience there.

My SAT scores were low, I think. I believe they were 1120-1160 range and I did really poorly in high school. I don't even know if that matters since I did so well in college.

I plan on taking the GRE to show I've improved in my test taking ability.

Assuming I do well on the GRE, get at least 100 hours of volunteering, and do some shadowing, how likely is it that Hopkins or Goucher will like what they see?

If you have any additional suggestions, I'll take those too!

Nothing? Does that mean it's a stupid question and I shouldn't worry so much because my stats are pretty decent?

You have a gpa 99% of the people on this subforum would kill for, of course your stats are decent.

Nobody is going to look at your high school record. Just do well on the MCAT and you're in good position

OP: give it a little more time and look for the Goucher thread.

Thanks for responding. It was my first post and I posted it on the wrong board and then posted it here and felt like a giant loser when nobody responded.

My undergrad gpa IS awesome but I'm 29 and graduated in 2005 with a degree in business management. So, I have lots of catching up to do. I've taken chemistry and biology and got A's in both but that's as far as my science experience goes.

I just need to get into a good postbacc program and it's taken since 2005 for me to get the courage to do this and I am NOT going to chicken out this time.
