I am a second year medic from the US who is trying to get some work experience in the US over summer (voluntary work ANYTHING) and I was wondering if anyone had any advice of where I could try?

Take a gander at the Pre-Allo and Osteo forums; the students there will have some suggestions. If you check the listings under the Member section at stoppagingme.com there are summer and research job opportunities. The NIH and AMSA may also list some job opportunties, although not necessarily clinically oriented.
