As the title says, I want to apply early for the next cycle to have a better chance of interviews/acceptances. My current situation is I'm a graduating senior, I'll graduate in Spring 2017 (Grades are due May 26) and I'm planning to take my DAT late April/early May. I just need a timeline of when I should start getting things prepared. How long does it take for my DAT to be uploaded onto my AADSAS app? What about official transcripts? Should I have my letters of rec uploaded to Interfolio? I doubt I can have everything sent out June 1st but again, the early the better my chances.

It took them 2 weeks to process my DAT score, 2 week-ish to do my GPA calculation after they received my transcript. I can vary a lot depending on when you apply. I applied in late August- early September so it didn't take mine that long but I heard it can take longer in June to July since a lot of people apply and submit everything then. I think you should be fine as long as you can submit everything in the first few weeks of June. I 'heard' that schools don't review applications until late June-ish.

Transcripts take about a week to mail in, and then another 2-3 weeks to process.

DAT scores take about 2 weeks to process.

Get your LoR as soon as possible. Professors sure take their sweet time writing them.

After your DAT, start working on your personal statement and filling out other sections of the app. You'll have about a month to do all this before your transcripts/DAT scores are finished processing.

Does your school have a pre-health committee that does the LORs? That was the biggest fact of why everything took so long for me. Definitely start talking to professors about your LoRs sooner than later. As for the DAT, don't rush it. A better score on it a few weeks later is much better than a mediocre or bad score sent early.

No, my school doesn't have a pre-health committee, one of my prof's is very quick to do LOR's but the other is a lag. As for the DAT, that's the one thing I don't want to rush and I'm taking my sweet time to study and prep well and take it in time.

Definitely get your rec letters squared away early. That was the part that took the longest for me, and it was somewhat frustrating having to wait for that to be done, knowing that I had already taken care of everything else

What's your GPA anyway? You better study your a** off if it isn't above the average matriculating GPA. Dental is getting more competitive every year. 21+ DAT is a very comfortable score paired with a GPA of 3.7 or higher.
