TUCOM-CA: Who's the Dean?

Hi! Just trying to figure out if the Dean is Deborah Blackwell (from catalog) or Michael Clearfield (from faculty/staff webpage). Which is correct? Thanks!

Clearfield is the current dean; I believe Dr. Blackwell's contract was not renewed after last year.

I personally think this should be an improvement, Dr. Clearfield is a D.O. himself, while Dr. Blackwell was an administrator. But that said, I hear he hasn't been very visible at school events this year.

Thanks! However, in her opening address in the catalog, she has "D.O." after her name. Or did you mean that she just did not actually practice medicine?

Dr. Clearfield is the new dean.

If the dean not being present at student events shocks you or whatever, you should know that most STUDENTS don't show up to student events. They study.

The only student events that everyone attends are exams.

My question is: why does this matter at all? We have more deans than cadavers.

I do believe that Dr. Clearfield will be good for the school in the long run. Blackwell, I have heard from 2nd years, wasn't all that effective.

Oh I apologize (well, more to Dr. Blackwell than you 😛)! She is a DO as well. I don't know where/how I heard otherwise, but should've double checked before passing it on.
