No regional bias that I know of.

50% of the new class is from CA, 20% from NV, and the rest are from all over the place.

As for regional bias, I'm not sure. Did you check out their 3rd/4th year rotation sites? Do any of those appeal to you? That might factor into your decision. I have a buddy who goes to Touro-NV and last I talked to him, he seemed to like it (two years ago, he's probably an OMIII now). I should probably try to hit him up.

There is no regional preference.

Hey DrWily, I just got the secondary last week, so they probably just began sending them out.

Yeah first round of secondaries went out last week. They DO screen for their minimums before sending secondaries. If you do not have a cGPA and sGPA of 3.00 and a MCAT of 25, you will not receive a secondary.

Hi DrWily, I'm sorry but I have the same understanding as guydudcl. They do plan on enforcing their new MCAT and GPA minimums, because there are more than enough applications. But good luck with your interview year!
 
Last Polar Bear, did you receive the secondary via snail mail too? Or was it email? I haven't gotten an email yet from them, and there was nothing in the mailbox either. 🙁
 
Secondaries only sent out via email.

Yeah, I got it through email.
 
word is that they interview ~once a month. first date 9/23 then 10/17. but they're still processing apps.
 
Nevermind! I just received the secondary via email. I guess it depends on when they received your primary. Mine was verified on 8/15 , so I suppose it took a little time.

Time to start working!

And even if you don't, you have enough interviews already, haha. 😉

Let me know what happens! I have a 2.98 sGPA and haven't gotten any secondary either. That would be so stupid to not get it over 0.02...

Hmm, I was verified on 8/8 but haven't received anything yet. I guess they're still processing mine

We have received your application and letters of recommendation. Your application has been forwarded to the Admissions Committee for review to determine if you will be granted an interview invitation. The review process can take up to 30 days. You will be notified by email regarding the status of your application once a decision has been made. Thank you for your interest in Touro University Nevada.

+1 good luck everyone...hopefully itll be less than 30 days...but 30 days is miniscule compared to the wait for other schools!

When did you submit the secondary? I submitted mine about 4 days ago and still haven't received the email.
 
I am interviewing on 10/31- they said that was the absolute latest date they were currently scheduling.

I will say that I found a 3 star hotel online and booked for $22- much cheaper than what they suggest in the email and the best deal I found. I'm staying at Fiesta Henderson so if you're looking to save $$ I'd suggest shopping around!
I'm still trying to figure out whether it's cheaper to rent a car or use cabs.

If you want to pay WAY less for a hotel, look for any of the hotels in Henderson (there are a ton). It is closer to the school, and way cheaper.

It you're trying to party on the strip, rent a car and get a hotel room there (after the interview of course). Hooters Casino is really cheap ($29 a night). So is the Tropicana. A cab will cost you at least $40 from the strip to Henderson and has long wait lines

The place I booked is about a mile from where we interview- so that's pretty close. $22 was the cheapest I found for those dates but there might be some cheaper ones.

I was placed on hold for re-review today 🙁
 
What were your stats? I just got a re-review also, but I have a 3.4 cGPA 3.7sGPA and 29M mcat. Hmm. Should I call what were the stats of those with interviews?

same here. maybe it's bc they don't have any more interview days scheduled yet? that's what i'm going with.. many more days to open up (soon i hope)
 
I'm on hold as well. I was looking forward to this school.
 
How do you guys know when you are being re-reviewed?
