i'm also interviewing on 9/23! i'm so excited! anyone else interviewing on my date? excited to meet all of you guys 🙂

stats:

MCAT: 28S (P10 8V B10)
cGPA: 3.74
sGPA: 3.64
Lot of ECs, Leadership, etc.
Non-traditional applicant.

good luck everyone!

Just got off the phone with NV...

-interview dates are determined by availability of faculty interviewers, so as of now there's 09/23 and 10/17.

-we have two weeks after the interview invite to book, if we don't book then our file is put away.

-only 1 re-schedule is allowed.

Which comes to my problem... I'm looking for a T/Th interview date due to work, and as of now there's only Friday and Monday available.

Will anyone looking to book in the upcoming days let me know if a Tuesday/Thursday date pops up? 🙂

Called yesterday to schedule my interview. I had sent in my secondary at least two weeks before the interview invite email. They told me I could either pick 9/23 or 10/17. I picked 10/17. See yall there!

Does anyone have a contact number for this school? I received my new MCAT score but still have not received the secondary yet and I want to call and ask about it. On their website it only let's me send in a form.

I'm also interviewing 9/23... I guess alot of us are!

Anyone know what they're acceptance rate is like after the interview? I hear NOVA's is pretty high, idk about Touro, I hope it is too!

The lady I was scheduling my interview with told me that my interview will be only 15 minutes, was anyone else told the same? That is a pretty short interview!!

yep, i heard the same (15 min interview)... guess we'll see!

How long did it take for you guys to hear back after being complete? Its been a few weeks for me and I am wondering if I should call them.

Do you think my MCAT score, 26Q (V6, B10, P10) will cut me off from secondary application and interview invitations? I haven't added this school yet, however my AACOMAS has been verified already. I am thinking of adding this school, but I don't want to waste the money if my verbal score will cut me out. Anyone has any suggestion? By the way, my cGPA is 3.93 and sGPA is 3.95. I am Arizona resident with permanent residency and an immigrant from Korea seven years ago. I am not sure if this background will hopefully explain my low score on verbal.

Call them and ask. I just interviewed here and they said that their average mcat score last year was a 26.5. Your science gpa and cgpa are obviously great, so I don't think that mcat score would be that bad. If anything its taht 6 thats killing you.

Thankfully, they said I can go ahead and apply since I've met the minimum requirement. In fact, they don't have a sub-score minimum for each section of MCAT. They are looking at the total score. So, I just added this school yesterday to my verified AACOMAS. I hope I can receive the secondary quick.

Do you think this school gives you a higher chance of acceptance if you are admitted to the interview?

They interview ~500, accept something close to 240 and about 135 or so matriculate. You definitely should apply early, there are no essays that go with the secondary so get it in asap.

Are they pretty late about handing out the secondary application invitation??

Also, if you are invited for the interview, is there a higher chance for the acceptance for TUNCOM?

If it helps, my primary app was verified 06/20, I received the secondary on 08/11, and received an invitation to interview on 08/31.

I heard that TUNCOM pre-screen out applicants before sending out the secondary application. My brief stats are MCAT 26Q (V6 P10 B10) with 3.95 sGPA. I will not be screened out because of my verbal score, right?

How was the interview? Did you get accepted? After you are invited for the interview, what chance do you have to get accepted in statistical wise?

They explain that all the Touro branches have a secondary fee of $100 because they do a very thorough screening. I think Touro places a minimum requirement of 25 regardless of individual scores. Dont quote me on that though. Around half the people who are invited to interview are given acceptances. Check the "Interview Feedback" section up at the very top.

How did everyone's interview go on the 23rd? Anyone wants to give tips to those that have interview on the 17th? What was the format and what kind of questions did they ask? Thanks in advance!

The format was pretty standard, two faculty interviewers to each student.. Basic questions like "Why DO/medicine/Nevada?", some ethical questions, and some follow-up questions to the activities you may talk about.

Just relax as much as possible, think quality over quantity regarding your answers, and have questions ready. I know it's easier said than done, but when the interviews are only 20 minutes long, you really need to be yourself from the get-go and answer from the heart. I really enjoyed my day there :]

Good luck! :luck:

What kinds of questions did you ask them at the end of the interview? Because those are also important.

Yes, questions are important. I'd say ask whatever is important to you. Don't ask for the heck of it, anyone can see through that.

If you don't mind sharing what you asked at the end of the interview, can you share? I was thinking of asking more like a school's curriculum and passing rate of COMPLEX. Or maybe like opportunities for medical students to involve in the medical-related community events.

COMLEX, not COMPLEX

That makes me feel better... I've been waiting over a month for the under review e-mail.

Also just got the under review e-mail, but no invite yet. 😛 Sent in my app a good month and a half ago..

i feel like this school likes to make good use of the re-review. hopefully we'll be hearing good things soon

On Hold for Re-Review. :scared:
MCAT: 33R
Cum GPA w/masters: 3.46, Cum Science : 3.75.
Is this on hold basically a nice rejection? Has anyone gotten an interview after being on hold? What is the next step if your on hold, send updates, more LOR's? or something? Letter of interest? More money? Damn I feel neurotic, this process sucks..

Wow, I would think that your stats are good enough for a lot of M.D schools and all D.O. schools. Who knows, maybe they filled up all currently available interview dates so they put hold on everyone.

I was placed on hold during the 2010-2011 cycle.

I am now a TUNCOM student 😉

Put on hold for re-review as well.

3.26 cGPA, 32Q MCAT, strong upward trend, lots of research including a conference presentation, ECs including lots of leadership, philanthropy, work experience, and music.

🙄

Don't worry... the application season will certainly test your patience! But it will be worth it when you're staying up all night studying a year later. 😀 Just kidding, it's not as bad as people make it out to sound (in my opinion). 🙂

Does this school screen people out really carefully before sending out the secondary application invitation? It has been over a week since my verified AACOMAS has been sent to them...I should probably call them up about my application status. But is this usual delay before receiving the secondary app??

Does anyone know how long it takes before you get acceptance/rejection after interviewing?

I didn't send any updates, but it couldn't hurt.

That's good to hear actually. I probably won't send any updates at all since all that will change is my volunteer hours and work hours.

You think maybe they have a sGPA cutoff above a 3.08?

is anyone else not hearing a lot from this school? It seems like every other school has been keeping in touch a lot more. Maybe it is just because there have been a lot of holidays?
