I'm on the AC list also but plan to pull off. I was on it last year as well. They say it isn't a waitlist but it really is.

Anyone on the AC list who doesn't get pulled off which by now is everyone, is automatically put on the the "official" waitlist. They send you a letter and/or email sometime in the middle of May asking if you want to remain on the waitlist or drop off.
 
I just don't get it. I've talked to plenty of people who go to Tufts who got accepted from AC last year or the previous years. What happened this year? Why are they waiting so long? From other threads, it seems as though many people are withdrawing.... where are those spots??? Are we sure no one has been accepted from AC yet?
 
I'm still on the AC/waitlist...

Congrats Goosie, I know you have been waiting for this. This was for your fiancee right, as you were already accepted? That's pretty awesome that you'll both get to go to the same place.

I'm really hoping to hear some good news as well. I don't have any acceptances so far, and am waiting to hear from Tufts and Drexel (heard nothing since the interview).

Congrats again!!

THANK YOU! Yes, this was for my fiance. He was rejected by UMass on Saturday, so Tufts was the absolute last school we were waiting to hear from- and the last option for us to be within 300 miles of each other. such a relief.

I hope to see you in the fall!!!!!

Is there anything you did special while you (your finance) were on the AC list? Send letters, call, etc?

What time of day did they call you? I know I am getting neurotic 😳

We both wrote letters of intent, which was kinda strange since I had already been accepted..... but I have no clue how much that played a role in the decision. Despite what my fiance's rejection from UMass might say, he really is a ridiculously over-qualified candidate for med school (36 MCAT with a 3.9 GPA from a New England liberal arts school). Soooooooooooooo I'm assuming he got in to Tufts based mostly on his credentials and less on the LOI, although it couldn't have hurt!

He got the call yesterday around 11 AM.

we are all neurotic pre-meds, I think it's a necessary evil!

Congrats you guys! That's wonderful news -- I'm glad it worked out so perfectly in the end for you two.

I'm glad to hear the AC list is moving. I've been on it for what seems like forever.
 
Anyone else get off the AC list?

If Goosie's fiance has gotten off the list, that means they already got through the over-accepted crowd. right?
So now, if anyone withdraws, someone from AC list will be accepted?

I hope this is true, 'cause come this Thursday, we should see a lot of AC-listers coming off. 👍

That does make me incredibly nervous though. I wonder how many people they have started pulling from AC.:scared: This is terrifying.
 
Not to get everyone's hopes up even higher, but they still haven't acknowledged my recent withdrawl, so that's one more spot opening if they did already get under their class size... good luck!
 
Did anyone else almost flip out with excitement with the email from the Director of Admissions this morning? When I saw the email in my inbox I thought "oh my goodness, I am actually in!" And then I read the email, and I realized it's (probably) just so they can get our mailing address to flip us from ac to waitlist.

Sad face. At least there's only 2 more days until May 15th!

I got excited, thinking i got in. Then i got sad because i heard they call when u get accepted. Then i got relieved 'cause it was just to update our address.

I believe they will just be sending the waitlist info and ask to reply if you want to remain on it.

in my opinion, AC = Waitlist. They didnt pull anyone (among SDN peopl at least) from the AC list, except for Goosie's fiance last week.

well, if they accepted 1 off the AC list, then any new withdrawals = acceptances from waitlist. right? :scared:
 
It could also be that they accepted many people from AC, but that we only know about Goosie's fiance. I also got that letter a minute ago and my heart stopped. Now I kind of want to throw up.
 
I've gotten that email like 3 times already. If Mr. Thomas Slavin sends me another, I might stroke out.
 
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that i recieved a confirmation of my withdrawl at 10:32am today (withdrew a few days ago), so hopefully they are sitting around discussing which one of you to let in right now!
 
Thanks for looking out for us aaj117! Hope it's not just ONE of us though! I think they should just accept everyone from this thread. We've suffered enough.😳
 
I also just withdrew from Tufts today and received a confirmation email (going to UMass) so that's one more spot for someone else, and I'm sure others are coming. Good luck everyone!
 
So today is the 15th and we still haven't gotten the letter/email asking if we want to remain on the waitlist, or at least I haven't anyway.

So does that mean they won't be making decisions on the waitlist until sometime next week you think?
 
My guess is that the waitlist notification is coming in the mail soon; I think that's why we got an email the other day asking us to update our mailing address. I don't think that it necessarily means they won't call people in the next few days to pull them off the waitlist, but I don't actually know!

i got it too. im going to stay on it. sending it back today.

anyone know when movement starts? Are they going to meet more frequently or will it be once a month like they did during the regular process.
Their waitlist FAQs say most movement occurs in June and July. Seems kind of late.

Yep, I got it as well and sent it back this morning to stay on. I have no clue how many people actually get taken off and when that starts happening... all this waiting is so painful.
 
I agree with you completely, mt2117. It seems a bit unfair that we might have to wait until July or even maybe August before we get final, final decisions.

Does anyone know how much movement the Tufts waitlist has? 5 people? 50 people?

They have a FAQ section on the website specifically for Waitlisters. They say they can't give an average b/c it is so different every year. They mention that they have filled as high as a third of the class before with people on the waitlist, and as little as a dozen in other years.
 
Also got the letter. Staying on the waitlist.

I've heard a mixed things about how early/late the waitlist starts to move. However, other years it seems like many more people got accepted from AC, and this year, as far as I can tell, Goosie's fiance is the only one. Unless there's a huge proportion of people who got accepted who just never use SDN. So maybe this year they'll be accepting a lot more people from the waitlist?!? I mean, it looks like a lot of people withdrew this year, so there should be plenty of spots for us....right???

Let's try to stay positive my friends.😳

also on the W/L here. anyone got noticed today? next monday is a holiday, so i guess next tuesday/wed should be the first wave of W/L movement (according to what happened last year)
 
I wouldn't expect movement until mid June, to be honest. They have to give us a reasonable span of time to return the WL forms. Otherwise they'll be working at a disadvantage, pulling kids from a truncated WL that may not have a broad range of applicants.

I'm waitlisted at Tufts, too. I had the most POSITIVE interview at Tufts. Dr. Kreschmar said at the end, "I think you would make a great match for this school." What else do they want???
I am REALLY hoping to hear something soon since I'll have to make a pretty big move from Missouri...I think this is probably the most tortuous process ever. Boo. Hiss.

Hey guys!!! Hope the waiting isn't killing you as much as it's killing me.
I called the office of admissions today to ask about the wailist, and they told me to write an email to the assistant director of admissions...Mrs Condon. I don't know if I should write or not though. I don't want to seem impatient (ha...me? impatient??? never,) but I really want to know what the hell is taking so long. Have any of you been in touch with them? Find anything out?

i gave them a call last week and the lady answering my phone call told me to do the same thing. i then wrote to Director Condon last thursday asking the same old questions like how many ppl dropped prior to 5/15, what do you think about the chance for wait-listers based you expertise...etc. she replied to me yesterday. she sounded like a nice person in her e-mail, so i would definitely recommend writing a polite e-mail to her. i got a call this morning from Dean Neumeyer. perhaps the e-mail communications did help somewhat. good luck!

Just got the call from the dean!!! I'm in!!! Woo!!! There's movement on the list everyone! I hope you all get some good news!

Nope, nada.
I'm still really hoping, but it's getting ridiculously late. I just got pulled from another waitlist at a school I don't particularly want to attend... but at least it's something. Going to look at it again next week. Man I just wish Tufts could pull through...
What about you all? Any other acceptances or just waitlists?
