Hi all,

I was looking at another thread just now and someone's comment raised a question for me in regard about Tufts and their CC restriction.

I took some accounting classes and anatomy (which is not a requirement for Tufts) at a CC. Would this have a negative impact on my application and hinder my chance of getting an interview? I wouldn't think so but just making sure. If anyone got in Tufts even though they took some cc classes (prereqs or not prereqs) let me know please! Thanks

I took Anatomy and Macroeconomic at a CC and I got in. So as long as your pre-req are done at a 4yr, it's not a problem.

I took general bio and general chemistry at a community college; I majored in Biology.

I guess that rules me out of Tufts? 😕

they will count you out for sure if you took any prereqs at cc. i had two prereqs at cc and applied not knowing that - they still were kind enough to send the secondary app though and accept the secondary fees!

That's pretty low... 👎 😡

Thanks for the heads up 👍

Or the mindful student would not have bothered applying if they did not have the prereqs for admission 😉

called them but they never called back.

just confirming then. since people have been accepted. the general consensus is that CC classes (not prereqs) will not have a negative impact?

They are definitely OK with CC classes (not prereqs). I have an Associates degree from a CC, so half my education was from a CC, and got accepted this year.

I'm a bio major and I took general chem and general bio at a CC.

I hope I'm not considered damaged goods 😕

Definitely call Tufts and ask them directly. There is to much speculation on SDN!
