Yeah thanks ... they keep coming in and i keep shelling out the money.

I called this morning and didnt get an answer ... so no date for now but ill let you know as I know.

For those of you who got interview invites to Tufts, when did AADSAS mail out your printed application and when did Tufts dental school receive your guys' application?

I'm just curious because I'm waiting on Tufts to contact me.

I have sent them a check towards the end of August.

But after that, I have not heard a peep from them.

I check AADSAS status every week, and my current status is "under review" and has been like that for, hmmm, about a month or so.

My AADSAS was mailed out on August 18 but it wasn't complete (I had not taken the DAT yet). I took the DAT on Sep 2nd. My 3rd letter of rec was mailed from AADSAS on September 22nd.

My application was complete and mailed out at around the same time as your application - in mid-August.

I mailed them the $60 deposit at the end of August.

After that, I have not heard a peep from Tufts.

So do you have an interview invite?

If so, good luck!

I received an interview invitation on Oct 14 (5 days ago).
I think you should check your spam folder bec/ they will email everyone who applied. You should have received an email informing you that your application was received. Since you said you haven't heard a peep from them, definitely check your spam folder and GL!!!:luck:👍
I hope your interview invitation is there too!
 
third time applicant to tufts!!!! waitlisted last year... application improved but I didnt hear from them yet! ahhh, I want to get in first round this cycle so I can take a vacation! Come on, interviews roll in already.
btw, Tufts interview was fun and the city is awesome if you know a couple of people or if you want to stay to partay...traffic is another story though.

The first email I received from Tufts was the one sent to me in mid-August after they received the printed copy of my AADSAS application from AADSAS.

In that email, they basically wanted me to pay them $60 to continue with the applicaiton process.

So I did send them the $60 two months ago.

After that, I have not heard back from Tufts. Either in the form of emails or regular snail mail.

I also checked my spam mail folder, and there are no interview invites from Tufts yet.

Sigh.
 
Does anyone know why Tufts has sent so few interviews so far? Do they typically wait until later in the application process to sent most of the interviews out, and are we due for another wave of invites anytime soon?

yup... Tufts usually starts sending out invitations around October and interview starting in Nov.
 
are they still sending out invitations? or
are the interview spots already had filled up??? 🙁
 
Tufts is just finishing up with PG applications, and they just started doing invitations for DMD. They have close to 5000 applications right now to look at so just sit tight.

How do you know about the 5000 applications?
Someone yesterday told me Tufts is the most popular school this year in terms of applications... How do you guys know this?😀
 
Find out how many were mailed out from AADSAS or give the Admissions a call and ask them the size of the applicant pool this year. That's what I would do.
 
so if tufts do interview only on nov, they would probably interview whole lot after dec 1st...?????? maybe???

tufts does interview lots of applicants after dec 1st. even into feb. so don't lose hope. i have a few classmates that got in well after the dec 1st deadline. when you interview they will tell you how many spots are left THAT very day if you interview after dec 1st. if you interview prior to dec 1st, you have a good chance of getting in. only a small percentage of people are rejected post-interview, unlike what you see at some other schools where an interview only improves your chances minimally.

Is anyone else flabberghasted by the size of the manual they're having us read before we get there?? I'm scheduling it into my calendar the same way I schedule in my exams, papers and quizzes...

The supplemental is extremely easy. They just ask a few basic questions like your name, etc. No essays.

The "packet" is not something you have to "study" bec/ they will not quiz you. They are just sending you information about the school 😎. That is all it is...

even though people are saying you don't HAVE to read it...it would be in your best interest to. because when i interviewed, a few people asked questions that were directly answered in the manual causing several students to roll their eyes and the dean to say, "its in the manual, but i will still elaborate." Plus, you are already flying all the way over to boston to check it out, you might as well read the freakin book. most of it is interesting facts anyways, very comprehensive. if you read it, you will know that tufts isn't hiding anything.
 
Locked down my interview for Dec. 8. Anybody planning on staying in the tremont or milner (aka the "inexpensive" hotels)? I don't know the area at all, but I'm hoping for a chance to check it out on the 7th and I'd definitely be down for some company.
 
All of you guys with Tufts interviews, had a letter from dentist staying the number of hours you shadowed him/her?
Because I am not sure what was written in my letter.

I'm going a day later, or else I would. I'm totally a doubletree girl...I'm definitely staying there! 🙂
 
I got invited to the first string of interviews and my date is Nov. 21st. Anyone else going then??? And im staying at the Milner hotel so I will let you all know how that is!

Yes, I did. I called Tufts and they want a letter from dentist saying that we did more than 30hrs of shadowing.
I had to tell the dentist to write that and not forget about it!😀
