I have an interview at Tufts in february. They just sent me an invite late week. Anyone have any insight as the chances of me gaining an acceptance this late in the game? I heard that Tufts accepts a lot of the people they interview.

Same boat, they just emailed me on friday. After perusing the other posts on Tufts Interviews, they really accept a large number of their interviewees. If you already have a great school with a great tuition, then you should reconsider going to the interview. Otherwise, check it out! I'm contemplating going to the interview :/

I was pleasantly surprised by my interview invite. I was accepted at NYU so I will definitely attend the interview at Tufts.

Their interview presentation this past Friday said about 80/170 seats had been deposited. You definitely still have a chance!

Agree, you still have a great change. Only close to half of the seats have been deposited as of yet. I'm pretty sure the class size is 185.

Something like that haha. I forget the exact stats. Approx half seats left.

most d-schools fill 50-60% of their class pre-dec. i declined my interview at tufts. goodluck! you still have a shot

I am booking a flight for 5:15pm, do you think I will be able to make it in time from campus? Approximately, what time did your interview day end? The e-mail said 3pm, but did you guys end earlier?

Ours ended at 3:15. Dr. Gonther is VERY thorough lol!

It's certainly not late at Tufts. Their whole cycle is later than other schools.

Plus I'm giving up my seat there...so there's one more now!

G'luck.

yiikes, ok! So, how far is the school from the airport? Would it be better to take a train or cab? The latest flight for the day is 5:30 anyways, but it's more expensive! Would 5:15 be pushing it? Thanks so much!

Just had the interview there today. Only 70 deposits made so far and they offer acceptance to 70-80% of all interviewees with expected 50% to accept the seat. Class size is 185 so still ample chances for late interviewees. The interview ended around 2 today for my group haha. 5:15 is sufficient imo. It is about 25 min drive from airport.

Thanks so much! Do you mind if I PM regarding interview questions?

What is the last event for the day? An informative session or the interviews? Would it look bad if I left 15-20 min early?

If you're out by 3:15 you'll have no issues. The T station is right next to the school and there's only one train change to the airport.

Sigh, I haven't heard anything back from tufts yet
does anyone know when they stop sending out interview invites??

If any of you are interviewing on the 13th and have a 515 flight like me, we should share a cab to the airport

^^ See ya at the interview 🙂

I live close by so I can't help you with the transportation.

I'll share a cab with you! PM me =)

Hey guys, I just interviewed there. I think you two should think about just taking the T subway system straight to the airport after your interview. The station for the T is only a few blocks away from the dental school. It's really easy and would be ALOT less expensive. Boston traffic also starts getting messy around that time so a taxi might actually take longer.

If you're looking for a place to stay, there's a Holiday Inn at Beacon Hill that's like $76 a night if you go through Hotwire. Even though it's not next to the school, it's pretty nice and you can get anywhere with the subway system. Good luck and have fun! It was a very nice and laid back interview. Definitely stay a few days in Boston if you have time to explore. PM me if you have any questions.

I stayed at that hotel for my interview. I did priceline name your price and got it for 60$. It took me about 20min to get from there to the school. Took the T from MGH to Downtown crossing, then got on the orange line to tufts medical center. SUPER easy and only costs 2$.

Also for those of you taking the T from tufts to the airport. Tufts medical center orange line to state and switch to the blue line to the airport.

I believe the orange line to state is "inbound to oak grove" and the blue line from state to airport is "outbound to wonderland"

Actually if you guys stay around South Station you can take the Silver Line from there, no switching necessary. The red line has been temperamental recently - think breaking down during rush hour.

Hey, I interviewed on the 23rd with you as well at Tufts. Do you recall when they said they would release admission decisions? I can't remember if it was this Monday or next.

For those of you who recently had an interview, do you have any advice? How was the interview? 2 on 1? do you remember any specific questions?

My interview was 1on1. Some other people had 2on1. They get you during lunch so eat quick! No advice other than be yourself, it was a really laid back interview.

Edit: generic interview questions. Why dentistry...

Offer made!! :soexcited:Most likely going to attend! I absolutely loved Tufts and Boston is such an incredible city.

My interview was 2 on 1, a member of the faculty and a 4th year student. It was incredibly laid back. They probably asked me only one dental related question. Otherwise, we found ourselves talking about all kinds of random, fun things. Don't stress out about it. 🙂

I just scheduled my interview yesterday for 2/21! Are they supposed to send a confirmation email right away? I haven't gotten one yet and I'm wondering if I should call the office.

They sent me a confirmation email about 2-3 days after I scheduled the interview.

OFFER MADE!!!

:soexcited::clap::soexcited:

Tufts is my top choice, so I'll see everyone in the fall. It's an amazing school, so best of luck to everyone that's about to interview. Congratulations to everyone that got accepted today!

I'm also interviewing 2/21 ! I did not get the confirmation email right away. Took a few days. As long as you scheduled the interview you should be fine. I'll see ya there!

Thanks for your feedback. If anyone is going to be there on Feb. 12, let me know if you would like to roam around campus..I'll be in town around 1pm so I'll have plenty of time to kill! PM me if you want to meet up/walk around a bit!

Hey guys!!! I also have an interview 2/21. Can't wait to meet everyone. Any advice from people who got accepted?? What kind of questions do they ask?

Just had my interview there today and it was nice and laid back. My interview was 1 on 1 with a 4th year DS. He didn't really ask any questions, it was more just a conversation about a little bit of everything. Totally relaxed! They did say that only 75 deposits have been made I think. Good news for us later interviewees!

Hi everyone! I have an interview for March 5th! Do you guys think there is still a chance?!
