In Tuft's secondary application instructions, they stated that the majority of applicants do not answer the essay question: "Is there any personal reason or circumstance/history that motivates you to attend TUSM in particular or study in Boston?"

The instructions state that we should not be "compelled to turn to research or creative writing" and that answering no to this question is perfectly acceptable. What do you think? How many have answered this question?

I didn't... Though in retrospect I should have used that space to write a thank you letter for not strong-arming people into conjuring up complete BS like some schools.

It was my impression that they literally don't want you to use that space unless you have some particular/specific/real/genuine connection to Boston or the school.
