Tuition and choice of schools

Are there any advantages in going to an Ivy league school for the MPH as opposed to a state university? I am very interested in schools like Yale and Columbia, but the tuition for these schools is close to 40,000 a year. In other words, what attracts people to the Ivy league programs when they could get the same degree from a public university for half the price?

I think the ivy league has a brand name tag to it. The education standard might be the same but you get better internship oppertunties and as the number of students is relatively smaller as compared to a state school they try to give you more oppertunities. The alumni network at some of these schools is just amazing. Also when you want to go to Busniess school or Law school I think it does help if you have a degree from a famous school. However there are some state schools that have a very good reputation like Berkeley or UCLA. In that case you wouldnt be picking a lesser school. If you have a choice between SF state or Yale. I would say go to Yale.
