Greetings, just had a question.

I was waitlisted for Tulane April 21, and I sent a letter of intrest April 30th. However, May 3 I got a rejection letter, and I'm kinda confused. First off, in the waitlist letter, it said that they waited until August to finally boot people off. Second, my school's letter service called all the schools I was waitlisted on May 3rd to send some updated LOR's, Tulane was on of them. All of them, including Tulane, still I was still active and gave the green light to send them. Third, it isn't even bloody May 15th! So yeah, what's with the quick rejection?

Maybe it has to do with your interview rank/score. Maybe they don't want to lead you on. There are what 400 people on the waitlist!?! I know it sucks, but at least you have closure. Are you waitlisted anywhere else?

I got it a bit late today, so their office is closed. I did email them, and I'll be calling them as well. I just wanted a heads up though of a possible history of this, if anyone else this year experienced the same thing, ect. Possibly anything to add to my ammunition as it were. But yeah, no doubt I'll be callin' 'em.

I got that letter today too after being placed in the acceptable range. The thing is I withdrew my application after I wasaccepted to my state school. I was a little surprised. Good luck when you talk to them!
 
I loved tulane but I withdrew yesterday for personal/family reasons. It seriously broke my heart to say no...I really wish one of you gets that spot, there is going to be a lot of movement around this time. good luck!

I didn't get the letter yet so I take that as a good sign. Thanks for opening a spot.

Yeah, I'm kind of glad I haven't heard from them since being waitlisted.

Also after they interview you and review your application they assign you a score from 1-10. I wonder if you would be able to find out how you ranked?
 
I'll be withdrawing in the next couple days too...really liked the school, but money talks, I guess.

Someone else on the Tulane Class of 2009 thread said that they got a rejection letter recently too. I didn't get one today, but now I'm really scared to check the mail for the rest of the week.

It definitely would be nice to know what kind of 1-10 ranking they give you.

I am also on the acceptable range (since Jan) but I haven't gotten a letter in the mail. I called last week (Thursday) and they told me I was still on the acceptable range at that time. I sure hope my status didn't change suddenly on Friday. Crap, I don't feel like getting my mail for the rest of the week either. By the way, I am from North Carolina.

Indo, I think they meant the ranking number 1-10.
 
Lol. Yeah, but I was rejected today anyways so the info won't help me anymore. Good luck if you're still on the WL.
 
I bet they won't tell anyone what their number is.

I really hope my letter's not in the mail cuz I just spent $5 sending them a transcript. Oh, who am I kidding...what's $5 at this point.


I don't like this idea of rejecting people from the waitlist. Either you were acceptable or not. Don't give us false hope and then swipe it out from underneath our feet without warning. 😱 😡

I called yesterday and they wont give out anyones ranking. Guess we have to wait it out, good luck!!!

The 15th is a Sunday. Does this mean the adcom will meet on tuesday the 17th? ...not that it makes any difference.

I think it's safe to say that if you're still on the WL, then you have very good chances of being accepted.
 
Mech where are u from?

I'm waiting as well and soooo paranoid...My dad has been calling me daily to let me know I can breathe easy because a rejection didn't come in the mail yet, but....it could show up any day. I called and they still said that I was in the acceptable range but didn't a few other people get told that on the phone then get a rejection?
This is awful...talk about anxiety!

I just have one other school left and if I don't get in there its reapplication for me. 🙁
 
They are slow...I sent in an update letter on 4/20 😎 and I just called to see if they received it...and it wasn't even filed yet! The admissions lady put it into my folder while I was on the phone with her...at least I still have a folder I guess...but make sure you guys call if you send them anything to speed up the process of processing...good luck to everyone still waiting!

I can't stop checking this thread. Every time I see it at the top of the first page, my heart immediately begins to race. Thankfully, business hours for today are over, taking along with it the possibility of a telephone call. I can now continue studying/procrasatinating for my last final in peace.

Ugh.
 
My guess is it is by mail until the WL stops moving a lot, then as school nears and the last few stragglers decide to defer or not attend, they will call you since the school cannot afford to spend a week printing and mailing letters, or they might not fill their class.
 
I didn't get any mail from Tulane today. However, winshield washer fluid is on sale at 2 for 99 cents.

Thank you, I was so nervous, but now that we can all see clearly, I can actually get some sleep tonight!
