Who signed up for this and got the stupid newsletter "The Pathologist" from Cornell?

How ******ed can you be...I sign up for a course and they send the bios of all their residents and fellows, like for some reason I feel inclined to hire them after getting bent over for a 1200 dollar course that only lasts 5 days and I have to stay in Boca Raton instead of Miami....are they serious?

Lets go down the list at Cornell...
take their Gynpath fellow, she graduated from Howard medical school in 3 years...ok that sounds fishy to me, then it says she did her undergrad at Indiana University of Pennsylvania?! Umm what the hell. Then just 3 years as a resident at Hopkins where she obviously did just AP and now a gyn fellowship...job prospects? Sketchy. good luck with that.

Dermpath fellow, some dude who got his MD in 1979, the year some of you were born...and hes doing a fellowship? for what? retirement?

Another bio is of a PGY-1 that actually tries to make a big deal of her major in fine arts and a semester abroad...Are they serious?! Gimmmeee a break.

Well at least I had a good laugh this morning. Thanks Cornell, for comedy relief.

it sounds like cornell is trying to organize some sort of eHarmony event for its residents.

I am sure *you* went to college at Princeton, medical school at Hopkins, residency at the Brigham and fellowship at MGH.

Oh, wait a minute: maybe you didn't do a fellowship and that is why you are a pathologist in private practice somewhere hating his field, his job and his life.

I am also sure you are extremely attractive and secure about your personality to be degrading women, people with mental ******ation and foreigners throughout this forum constantly.

Chill dude. Get your aggressions out at the gym. Maybe then you will actually have more luck with the ladies.

OH NOS! Pathres2 says cut it out! No more fun for me.

How sensitive can you be and still be in medicine? You must have landed in one of those cush 9-5 residency programs.

I know the above picture is how many Cornell residents are feeling, it tears me up inside to see you so hurt and vulnerable, no really, I'll cut it out.

Thanks for the slide show! I do sometimes feel like a bachelor lion, even catching myself at awkward moments where I have to ask for a name again midact, its incredibly embarassing as you can imagine. :scared:

In residency I tried to stick with a theme as to not confuse myself on tough rotations, all girls named Anna or Jenny etc. worked well.

Thanks!

Me? No, I was a class A screw off in medical school. I was a Tri-Lam tho.
Of course I dont send out a newsletter with my hack bio and comments like "LADOC decided to spend a year in Amsterdam doing a gynecologic and pulmonary study after medical school."

Maybe we should just all pause for a second. Remember, we are all pathologists. That mean's that we will always be under-respected, under-appreciated, a disappointment to our families, and enigmatic to the rest of the world--including many clinicians. Most lay people think we do research all day and don't understand what a slide is.

Many of you have indeed graduated from Ivy League schools (except the LADOC, who you can see is insecure about not being a "real" doctor in the first place, and whose license plate on his Volvo probably matches his user ID), and may have wasted your AOA membership in a field that no one would call glamorous, but you are all in this pursuit together. So maybe you should stop all the nit-picking and take out your doubts about your career choices at the local pubs or maybe just switch to a more socially acceptable field.

LADOC

Los Angeles--supposed to stir up images of Beverly Hills, expansile wealth, Rodeo Drive, sexy celebrities ---> glamour, glamour, glamour --exactly what you will not find in pathology no matter what.

DOC--supposed to stir up images of the well respected family doc, a life of saving lifes, prominence in the community, --> again, you will not find this in pathology.

LADOC, why not change your userID to RottingCorpse, which would be a much more appropriate name given your chosen vocation.

OR... we could all become forensic pathologists! Now, THERE'S a job that familiy, friends and the rest of the world can relate to... 🙂

Initially I saw this and thought, "I'm not a resident yet so I won't be up in arms about attending tutorials and workshops." But by accident I opened up this thread and thought, "Damn, I been missing out!"

LADoc00, you fail to disappoint me. This thread provided much needed amusement in my day.
