I have an interview for an Activities Assistant at a nursing home, and a tutoring position for a school.

Is wearing a suit too much for these positions?

Do you know who you will be interviewing with? If your interviewer will be wearing business/business casual a suit is fine. If they will be casual then business casual is fine IMO. Try to be as dressy or a little dressier.

kahkis and a collar shirt or slacks and a dress shirt with dress shoes. Either one of them are fine.

I feel like if you wear a suit you could likely be way more dressed up than the interview and everyone else there... likely an awkward situation. Are these part-time or full-time gigs?

Especially if it's a part-time thing, khakis and a collared shirt would cut it. Or even consider a button-up with a sweater. Brown shoes... no sneakers.
