Two questions -- need help!

1) I started working as a dental assistant this Monday and I'm wondering if I should update my experiences section on AADSAS.

2) My research professor submitted a publication in June but it didn't get approved to get published. He said he will need to make some changes and resubmit back in June, but it hasn't been done yet. Should I email the professor and ask? I put the publication as submitted on my application and I have an interview in mid-September.

I will continue to work as a dental assistant during my gap year so I was wondering if I should update it as a current experience..
