so the options for license type are:

- full
- temporary/limited
- inactive

if you have an MT license (the kind you get when you start internship), but haven't gone through the rigamarole to get your MD license, do you just leave this question blank or is it considered a limited license?

thanks in advance.

If you have a training license that's a limited license. Full license allows you to moonlight and practice independently. Inactive is what people do when they move away from a place but don't want to give up their license (usually b/c it's a pain to get it back) and think they might want to come back there to practice.

Different states have different names for it but it sounds like you're talking about a limited/temp license.

I've never really known the answer to that myself...but when asked on other state licensing apps, I put all the licenses I've ever held. So for my Arizona license, I listed my Pennsylvania MT license, my Active Pennsylvania MD license, and my inactive New Jersey license.

Not sure if they care about the MT licenses but I'd rather not raise a red flag because it does come up on the database. As a matter of fact, one of the hospitals I moonlighted at was checking the physician database and claimed I didn't have an active license and couldn't work. Too bad they were checking under my MT license #. 🙄
