I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous, has anyone here used # 2 mechanical pencils when they took the PCAT?

I saw people using them both times I took the test, but I still hesitate because I don't know for sure what happened.

I know its absolutely ridiculous that I would worry about a think like this, but I would really rather use a mechanical than a wooden schoolbus yellow pencil.

Did you use one the last time you took the test?

Yup. It doesn't matter. Use what you're most comfortable writing with.

I used mechanical pencils the first two times I took the exam... and scored horribly. 😳 The website says mechanical pencils are prohibited so this time I'm bringing some old #2's... but it seems the test takers don't care.

well you were still scored and that means two things:
- mean you didn't get 0% 😛
- means the mechanical pencils are fine!

I prefer mechanical pencils in general, but I brought regular pencils and a sharpener to the test. I like the regular pencils because they are fatter = less time to fill in bubbles = more time to think. 😀

I like the way you think, this was my reasoning as well... I'm also an OCD bubbler so I spend enough time as it is bubbling in every nook and cranny.
