Ok, so long time lurker, first time poster in the MSTP forum...
My question-
I know the majority of MD/PhD programs are assuming/expecting an applicant to have significant time in a wet lab/basic science lab. How about those of us that did or are doing other types of research?
I have 6, almost 7 years of research under my belt, but with the majority of it being either clinical research or biomedical research (fMRI and biostats to be exact); I do have some bench work done as an undergrad in a physio lab, but the good stuff is all kind of non-basic science stuff. I'm guessing this isnt an issue but I figured I'd ask the powers that be here; do some places stress basic science lab work over other types of research, or am I making a mountain out of a molehill? My interests PhD-wise are in the realm of BME, neurosci, and oncology.
Thoughts? 👍
