I see what you mean now. I think maybe I have a tendency to demonize people with whom I have very strong disagreements. I need to give people more credit and realize that it's very unlikely that anyone is willfully taking advantage of people. And for the record, I am absolutely remorseful. Like I said, a lot of this thread has sort of been my attempt to rationalize what I said. I would like to be one of those people who doesn't say much; someone who's words carry more weight because of their rarity and because of their understatement. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the constructive criticism. If nothing serious or career altering happens from this, then I am extremely lucky to have had this experience. As long as I am not expelled or permanently marked in some way, then I have learned an extremely important life-lesson literally just in time for the beginning of my rotations. Thank you again.

Again, just once and for all want to make something clear. I AM SORRY. I am really sorry. I absolutely let my emotions get the best of me. I totally agree with the above statement that, even if I were an attending talking to a first year at a conference about the future of Osteopathic Licensing exams it would be *****ically arrogant to respond the way I did to those questions. The word is "tact." I had absolutely zero tact that day. I am better than this. I am going to man up. Take my punishment, swallow my pride, admit that I was immature and childish and move on without repeating this mistake.

Thank you all so much for your honest advice. I assure that it will make a huge difference. Now I just have to hope that my punishment is merciful.

Now you're being a bit harsh on yourself. It's no big deal, really. You got worked up over something that's not even important. Most people are on your side, and a few have done the same thing you did. I doubt there will be any "punishment."

Seriously, dude. I've said at least 5 times that I surely went further over the line than you did, and I repeat, NOTHING OF SIGNIFICANCE HAPPENED TO ME. Have a drink, maybe two. Turn on "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley. Put it out of your mind and stop worrying. Don't do anything else dumb. And then we can put this thread to rest until the next person does it and bumps it.
