Types of writings Nurses do?

I am a senior at Grand Valley State University in Michigan and I am a nursing student there! I just got accepted into the program this summer....seems like I waited forever to get in. But in any case I am working on some papers for my one class and I have to do a Survey of Writing in my field..which would be nursing.

I was wondering if you guys could help me with what kinds of papers nurses write. Ive got things such as documentation, patient plans, case histories, research..but I really dont know too much else!

If you just got accepted into the nursing program, how can you be a senior? Were you majoring in something else?
