Has anyone heard from University of the Pacific? My status changed to final review "allow 2 to 3 weeks for review". I have not had an interview. What does this mean? Thanks for your input 🙂
for those of you that originally had the "re-review in Jan" status, and the status now changed to invited or "final review", did AADSAS post your Academic Update before UOP re-review your app?
my school sent my fall 2010 grades to aadsas two weeks ago, how long is the AU going to take?
thanks.
UoP called the day before offering the interview to request an unofficial academic update. As far as I know, AADSAS is still sitting on my AU (sent, like 5 weeks ago?) I think they're aware that AADSAS is being really slow.
When were you called offering an interview and when is your interview?
@wantveneers-I'm a non traditional applicant as well. Been out of school for 7 years and I have my masters. Sometimes life experiences outside of school can help to show that you are well rounded and have other interests. Your scores aren't bad. I'm sure you'll get in either this round or next. Looks like I'll be applying again as well.
Got the "Final Review" status change yesterday and the "Allow 4 to 6 weeks for Review"
Just got a rejection email. Probably the nicest one I've gotten so far from anyone. 🙂 Good luck to the rest of you.
Ditto. Hope it's not a system wide status change!
@wantveneers
Sorry to hear! If you don't mind me asking, did they mention anything as to why they rejected you?
They didn't tell me directly on my email, but yesterday when I called they said that my DAT scores were too low. I got a 15 O-Chem and 16 Bio, and their average from accepted students are 22 and 21, respectively. The only thing that I did better than their average was quantitative, where I got a 21 (which no one cares about). 🙂
To quote the email, for those that are interested:
Our incoming class averages are: academic average 21, perceptual ability 22, quantitative reasoning 19, reading comprehension 22, biology 21, general chemistry 22, organic chemistry 22, and total science 21.
Mine change to allow 4-6 weeks too. And i apply really late (dec). Can you share ur stat if u dont mind ?It seems to be system wide. I also received the Final review allow 4-6 weeks.
Based on previous posts, it seems that those that did receive interviews never got the change to Final Review but still had the status of "Re-review in Jan. or Feb." So it looks like rejections are coming soon.
I called them this morning and they said there will be a final review and they will send out interviews for the wait list (the class is pretty much full I guess)
So sad 🙁
Got the "Final Review" status change yesterday and the "Allow 4 to 6 weeks for Review"
Hopefully I get an interview call within the next few weeks
same here, my status just changed to that from "No Decision--Re-review at the end of Jan."
Hi Peerless,
Are you applying to 15 schools this cycle 2010-2011 too?
How is it going? Prefer other schools than UoP? 🙂

Hmm, I got the "final review update" a few days ago but now AADSAS has an update from UOP today. I wonder if they started mailing out rejections letters.
I am currently a D1 who's going through the toughest quarter here at Pacific, quarter 3😡
We have a new curriculum this year. Bascially nothing new has been added. Instead of power through the anatomy, the biochem, and physio separately. The school has now moved everything around and they're doing their best to group ALL relative topics into the same integrated medical science block and exams. For example, if we're talkinga about the digestive system, we'll learn the anatomy of it, the physiology of it, and the biochem of it.
are you talking about the supplemental materials section on AADSAS? I got the same thing, it says "last updated: 1/28/2011". Who knows, might just be a system wide thing.![]()
No way that is pretty sweet! I have heard that most schools are trying to adopt some sort of "system based learning" where you are in a system and cover the material. That makes UOP even more enticing. Thanks for the info
