So I got a little trigger happy on ERAS and ended up sending an application to this program. Lo' and behold they have sent me an invite and since I know ziltch about this place, does anyone have any scoop on what kind of program it is and how good is it.

i think they are on probation. i also think that they used to be known as medical college of ohio... someone please correct me if i am wrong on either account. i am sorry i cannot provide more details.

I thought I heard somewhere that Drexel was in the process of being re-evaluated by ACGME/RRC? Anyone have any news re their current/expected probation status?

according to the above they should have been re-evaluated in june....no idea of current status though

I'm a current 4th year at UTCOM and I'm going into anesthesiology. The program is not on probation. It is a small program, but the training seems pretty good from the little comparison that I can make having done the clerkship in July. Peds is done at University of Michigan, and a program is in the works to rotate at Ohio State for more cardio cases, which apparently should be active within a year or two. The residents I talked to really like it there and have no problem finding fellowships. The Ortho and Uro programs are big at UT, so lots of nerve blocks (you will be an expert) and more and more robotic cases every year. The small program and (relatively) smaller city are not for everyone, but I would encourage you to check it out if that sounds like your thing. Of course, I may be biased
