Still waiting to hear back from some II, but I wouldn't take them over these two at this time anyway.

UA Phx
Pros

• In State Tuition (40k)
• Know students who will be M2 next year
• 2-hour drive from family and friends
• Smaller class size compared to NYMC (130)

Cons

• Not a new place (Went to Phx for undergrad)
• Hot asf
• With ASU creating med school, losing all HonorHealth affiliates.
• Newer school, still "unranked"

NYMC
Pros

• Student housing
• New place to live (fun)
• Cold (love cold, live in midwest rn)
• Long-established
• Name recognition

Cons

• Private school tuition (66k)
• Large class size
• Tier 3 rank
• Less cohesive community

Summary: Super happy to be having to make a decision, applied last cycle and got absolutely nothing. I have no idea what kind of specialty to pursue, just that I want to be able to choose when I know. Thanks in advance for your thoughts you guys 🙂

Sticking around in Arizona for med school is perfectly fine in this situation. NYMC does not add anything really for that cost difference plus moving from friends/family. You can pretty easily leave in residency for a different area if you'd like at that stage.
