hey kfire, was this for the past year? that's what an interviewer said during my interview day as well, but it looks like it varies from year to year. this thread from last year says that UB board scores were 5 points above national average the year before (they were comparing to downstate, whose avg was ~ natl avg that year)

Just wondering something, wondering if any of you can clarify. It is my understanding that we can still hold multiple acceptances after May 15th but cannot get our deposit back after this date. Is this right?

I would not mess with the deadlines ... my understanding is you are supposed to have only 1 offer left after may 15th ( I might be wrong though!) but I mean by now people know multiple acceptances do know where they will go so ...

You can only hold one acceptance after the 15th. Most schools will also only refund deposits until the 15th as well. It is my understanding that schools who have accepted you all know where else you've been accepted. If you don't formally withdraw from all but one by today, then they could potentially withdraw your application for you. There are certain reasons - including for example waiting for financial aid packages that may sway your decisions - where you can still hold multiple acceptances. I believe that all the schools you're still holding acceptances from have to understand and agree to these circumstances by today though

Ohhh wow that's interesting. Is it because you got off a wait list at UB? What if you originally got accepted to UB - would that factor in whether you can hold both acceptances?

well, based on the ast year's thread, they hit the middle third by mid-late May! To me that doesn't seem to be happening this year! its a gut feeling though, but I do not see that much of movement in the waitlist ( even the in the top part of the upper third!) yet versus completion of upper third movemenr from last year's data, by say May 17th ...[/

I would call UB and talk to Mr. Rosso and also talk to your other school to make sure you can hold 2 acceptances after this date. UB knows that this is an important decision and they know that some ppl haven't gotten their financial aid packages yet from the schools- which can be a deal breaker. Just make sure you talk to Mr. Rosso so he knows who you are and your situation.

With the assumption of 300 students on the waitslist ( from previous posts ...) we have around 50 people here which is a pretty big unofficial list ... 😉

I'm pretty sure the waitlist is larger than 300. Buffalo ends up offering acceptances to 2/3rds of their interviewees, so the waitlist must be huge. I will add that I'm going to do my part, and will be withdrawing my acceptance. Good luck everybody!

I know, when I called Mr. Rosso reminded me that I should e-mail him those phone #'s (although he did say no hurry since it's not until mid-June that they call), which didn't exactly strike me as reassuring that the list was going to move fast. It might have been one of those "just in case" things though.

I agree. Mr. Rosso's remark does sound discouraging. I say that if no one posts on sdn this week that they got in, things might not be the same as last year. But what is confusing me is that Mr. Rosso said that he expects to accept the entire upper 1/3. Did he miscalculate?

Perhaps he thinks you have a good chance of being accepted before that date?

I gave him my 'list' of phone numbers and he said that I could expect a call as early as mid-july based on where I am.
