A more updated version of our SDN UB waitlist. I also called the admissions office and was told that Mr. Rosso expects to accept the entire upper 1/3. That is good news for all of us, as this means that many people are withdrawing. Congrats to those that got in !!!!

you can be whatever color you like!!

i don't know our final ranking, dr.nick...the numbering was chronological i thought...so i randomly added myself to the bottom (since i would be moving later than the original top 1/3)

i figured that when the greens start moving --then i can start to look at my status more often (since i was not put in the upper 1/3 until a month ago.)

No, I didn't ask Jeff that. But I think he will accept phone numbers by e-mail. To be honest, you probably wont need to send your numbers because you are in the upper third and once you get in (most likely before JUne 18th) you will find out by snail mail. But I would send it anyways just in case.

I just emailed Mr. Rosso about my info and he emailed back .... So I guess its ok to email him your updated info ...

good luck everyone! thanks for all your support and encouragement the past few months. it's really comforting to have you all around. i still check this forum periodically as if by habit now. can't stop myself cause i really want to see us all get in! hopeflly by next week, the waitlist will move like crazy...

I spoke to Mr. Rosso this afternoon. I offered to give the list to him over the phone but he said he preferred it over e-mail. He also mentioned that this year all accepted students are required to have CPR certification/updated certification done before matriculation.

Hey Dmcchung, really?? oh i really hope so. again congrats on your acceptance. it's cool that you're still writing here even though there is an accepted buffalo c/o 2011 thread. lol
 
I just got my email too... i'm in the mid 1/3... Mr. Rosso says 50/50... but that means like over 200 people need to decline their acceptances. That just makes me really nervous. I think Im gonna need to reapply. Has anyone thought about starting the new AMCAS?

Are you waiting to get off the wait lists from other schools? Don't freak out yet. If I were you, I would start thinking about completing another amcas so you can send it in by early June. Will your new amcas app. be different from your old one? I know it sucks but what matters most that in the end you'll be a physician (even if you have to go through a crazy path to get there).
 
Well I'm waiting for Boston University. But I think Buffalo is the better chance of the two. My problem is my MCAT but I can't seem to get myself to study for it again, and now its computerized so I need to figure out how to do that. That verbal just seems to get me everytime, any one have any tips for verbal?

I don't have THAT much different from last year and this year. There are different things I've done, but since I'm graduated its basically just work and teaching.

i was moved to the middle 1/3 a while back...I think this is correct now

It doesnt take long. All you need to do is sign up for a class. They usually range from 3-5 hours on 1 day. They teach you basic CPR on adults and children and you just have to prove you know that correct counts and such. I know that the American Heart Association and Red Cross do it. You should check it out.

You can easily do it on your own through your local community college, local red cross or American Heart Association (1 day course). He did mention that UBuffalo does offer a course when you get there but you have to get it done within the first week or so. You have to show a valid up-to-date certification card upon matriculation. I think come first week of August we will be overwhelmed with worrying about many other things that are more important than having to complete this course eg. housing, getting settled in, Biochemistry etc. I recommend doing it on your own over the Summer so that it will be one less thing to worry about during Week 1.

i never asked, mr. rosso told me that i was in a very favorable position, so i just took that as a good thing cause i didn't want to bug him. didn't someone say that they're not allowed to tell us where we are in each third anymore?

Unfortunately no 🙁 I tried getting that info from the office and apparently they are under strict orders from Dr. Severin not to reveal this information any more. Earlier this year, they used to tell me where I am within the third. Last year, they were already down to the middle of the middle third by mid to end of June. Given that they stopped interviewing 2 weeks later this year, my guess is that all people in the top third should hear something by mid June.

Thanks very much for the input guys. You mean we'd hear something good, right? Ahh. I can't wait anymore esp since I'm deciding between schools. Anyway, I guess all we can do is enjoy the weekend for now...

Yeah it's really not bad at all, I've done it a couple of times and more or less the only annoying thing is having to get up earlier than usual :laugh:
Guess it'd be good preparation for Buffalo's early schedule though lol.
 
Hey guys...im new to the thread..but Ive been following it for a while. Vegas sounds great!! Just some input - Memorial Day weekend is going to be crazy..not just because of the holiday..but the UFC fight too. Rooms are like $400-$500+. Maybe we should all just wait til we get in (hopefully). Anyways.. you guys seem like a lot of fun..good luck everybody : )
