UC Davis vs UCSD

Hi everyone. I'm lucky enough to get to decide between UC Davis and UCSD. I'm undecided on a specialty but love research, making my decision much more difficult. Any info about either school would be very helpful!

UC Davis Pros

• Closer to support system, including family and significant other
• Lower cost of living
• Diversity and student body support
• Cons
  • less prestigious
  • location (sorry Sacramento)
  • fewer research opportunities

UCSD Pros

• Higher ranked
• Good research opportunities
• Location
• Cons
  • higher cost of living
  • further away from family

Would SO be willing to move for you? UCSD for sure but proximity to family/SO is always important
