Did anyone receive one? I spoke to Gayle last week and she said that they would be awarding up to 8-10 of them.

I haven't even got my financial aid packet. I think they go out at the same time. Has anybody received their packets yet?

not me.. .but I sure would like to get a full ride scholarship! What do I need to do to be one of the lucky 8-10? :D I haven't gotten my financial aid stuff yet either. Was told to call them if I don't have it by early next week.

I don't think that the financial aid package will include this info, though. The full tuition scholarships are awarded by the Admissions Office, not by the Financial Aid Office.

did you get one Dr. J? If you don't mind my asking, was there anything special that you did for it?

I heard that UCI is offering some full ride scholarships specifically to students that would traditionally matriculate at another school (based on grades, MCAT, ECs etc.) in an effort to draw a stronger student body to UCI (not to say that their student body is lacking, I have a lot of friends at UCI med. and they are all brilliant, wonderful people) - that is just what I heard... they are offering some full tuition scholarships to help boost their rep. and help them meet their (rumored) goal of moving up in the rankings to a UCSD/UCLA level over the next 5-10 years.

you don't have to do anything to apply, the admissions committee reccomends people.

Hope some free money is headed your way :)

All scholarships are given to attract a better student body...you can take the above statement with a whole lot of salt.

Do any of the other UC's give out full scholarships?

(with my best Homer Simpson dialect) ooooh... mooonneey! <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> Bummer though - do you think that they would have already offered these scholarships to keep students that otherwise may have w/d'n before May 15? Did anyone get one of these scholarships?

I spoke to Gayle and she told me that I had a very good chance. But this was about two weeks ago. At that point they had already awarded the scholarship to 4 people.

UC Davis is the only other UC that I have heard of offering them to very exceptional students.

I would presume that by now, all 8-10 of the scholarships have been awarded, no?

I got the number directly from Gayle
