For those interested, the financial aid office at UCSF will be posting on the internet very soon the (projected?) tuition/fees for the upcoming year. I am not sure where they obtained the numbers because I didn't think the information would be known until much later but he sounded confident about the numbers. Anyway, he told me fees (which is tuition) will be $21,610 for a California resident, so the total cost for everything will be $41,650 for 1st year students. Obviously this is at UCSF so I'm sure it varies to some degree between the UC's. From last year, that's a 35% jump I believe.

Actually, they projected $21,500 for tuition. Is your figure out-of-state?

total cost includes room and board etc...along with fees aid.

so 21000 fees and about 20000 to live.

20K for living? that really generous.

is the 21K tuition, or is it tuition + fees? Fees usually run about 5k which would make it 26K?

yeah, its the fees on top of regular university fees.

regular fees are about 5k, so if the med school fees are 21k does that make it 26K?

it used to be about 11k fees plus 4k regular fees = 15K

I didn't get in to UCI. I am on the alternate list but will probably be withdrawing very soon. I was still hoping that somehow I'd have a shot at PRIME-LC but I doubt it is happening. I need to email and confirm that on Monday. So then I will withdraw and go to Davis and that will be one less person on the alternate list for you :)
