dpy, you are a very good person and I thank you.

Good luck on your interview tomorrow, Moskeeto!

no prob...good luck on your interview tomorrow!

Hey Moskeeto--

I hope your interview went well.

Did Terri tell you by any chance when they are going to stop interviewing?

I hope they stop the torture for us who are in the quasi-hold category.

Okay, here's what Terri told us concerning the hold category. She said it was a "very good" place to be right now and that they are being very stingy with giving out acceptences. Unfortunately, she made it seem like there won't be any movement until around june 15th. Then you'll be A/W/R. She said they just filled the class recently and didn't make the 3/15 deadline to fill it. I didn't get an exact date for interviews but it sounded like just until the first week of may. She also said that about 1/2 the people on the WL get in and that it is a ranked list and you'll know what half or third that you're in. Overall, I thought she was very nice and seemed eager to answer any questions and will try hard to get back to you as long as you EMAIL her and don't call 🙂.

As for my interview, I think it went okay and UCD is probably my number one choice now, It really shined a new light on this town.

Moskeeto,

So glad to hear your interview day at Davis was pleasant! I hope you get a decision from them soon--maybe we'll be classmates in the fall🙂

Hey Moskeeto, thanks for the info! I'm so glad your interview went well!

Davis is also my co-number one choice, but I had a couple questions for you if you don't mind.

She said that the hold category is a "very good" place to be, but the class has been filled already? Do you think I still have a good chance of getting in even if the class has been filled?

Also, does that mean that on or around June 15 they will let us know something?

Thanks a lot. 😀

She said they accept 210 to 214 people, i think, so a full class of 94 isn't bad news, that still gives over a hundred chances. she said we basically have a 50-50 chance of getting in if we interviewed. and I'm pretty sure you find out the A/W/R around june 15th or possibly a little before. She said it was a good spot because you weren't rejected already. She said a hold was basically what it is and means you weren't just where they wanted you to be to accept you and they didn't want to reject you, even though you could be rejected later. Sounds like you're gonna have to wait awhile, but you could always email her and let her know that you're in at Drew and want to know what your options are with UCD because you really want to go there and I'm sure she'll give you more details. Best of Luck, I hope you get in somewhere in NorCal.

Thanks Arginine, that would rock if we could be classmates. I was told I've got about 6 weeks until I find out my decision, so I can't hold my breath.

Moskeeto,
Do you know if you were interviewing for a seat or a waitlist? When I was there which was like a week before you interviewed, they told me I was interviewing for a seat in the class. I was just curious cause Terri told you the class was full.

YEAH KIPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  😀 That rocks, good for you.

Jet915, I don't know if I was interviewing for a seat or waitlist, but looks like they're still handing out acceptances. 🙂

moskeeto,
we were told yesterday that we were interviewing for real spots!! they have given out approx 100 and will give out 200 (including waitlists who eventually get accepted) acceptances by the time the class starts. so i think there's still a fairly good chance -- hopefully 🙂. they said they don't do the whole interviewing for a waitlist spot thing at davis. also, i think they told us they'd only be interviewing for a few more weeks.

"So you're saying there's a chance?!?!"

thats cool, I was hoping that it was for an actual spot, I have a feeling that my interview at MCW next week won't be. Its really wierd, after all my interviews so far, I've just been like "ok, thats over, time wait and get back to school" and then I go on with my so called life. But for some reason I can't seem to get this UCD interview out of my head. I think I was just really suprised by how much I liked the school and that I actually had a chance to get in. I've really been as close to positive as you can be that I no chance of even interviewing here. I'm glad we slipped in before they quit interviewing. Its going to be a loooooong wait. So, Lola, have you mailed your letter off yet?

Has anyone asked for an extention on their 30 day deadline?

I have a few days to do the entire secondary but I was unable to work on it previously due to the MCATs, lets not even mention that I was moving.

Would they give me an extention or do I just have to do what I can in three days??!!

Call them and ask, saying that you'll have them done in a week (shouldn't take you longer than that). They shouldn't have a problem with that since it's still early in the process. Good luck, there's a lot to write about!
