UCI Medical...Trouble?

I just heard on the news that UCI Medical Center is under the federal microscope. This is due to the fact that UCI Medical turned down viable organs that were transplantable (mostly liver). Thus, a lot of patients (more than 30 so far) died at their medical center waiting for organs.

How does this affect the medical students at UCI? I heard they can possibly lose all their federal funding...

residents would probably be more sensitive to federal funding cuts than med students, imho.
