Hi all, I just wanted to ask your opinions on something... I'm gonna be contacting UCI SOM Admissions too tomorrow, but I'd like to see some SDN people weigh in on this.

I have a foreign bachelor's degree and I haven't taken any pre-reqs yet. I will be starting them this Fall at a community college, but I'm not planning on pursuing a second bachelor's or whatever, I'll just be taking the pre-reqs and probably some upper-div science classes at a nearby UC through cross-enrollment. Now, on the UCI SOM website it says:

  • Candidates for admission may submit community college credit only to the extent granted on transfer to a four-year college or university.
So does this mean I shouldn't bother applying to UCI SOM anymore, because they only take into consideration CC classes that have been transferred to a 4-year? 😕

yup, you have to transfer and pretty much all schools require that you take at least 60 hours coursework in a regional accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
