Damn...and I had just sent them an email about why I didn't get a secondary.

Ohwell, they can shove it. I've got my sights set on UCSD 🙂
 
The admissions office is closed 12-1. I am gonna call them at 1 and get an answer.

There goes the rest of my day, ruined!

I think they are referring to the Univerisity of California at Irvine.
 
oh god... please don't tell me i wasted all that time filling out the UC davis, UC SD and UCLA secondaries if i didn't get a UCI interview............

cal - pls update as soon as you hear. I sent a email asking but calling is prob faster....

Mine says that, too! 🙁 But it says that my "Interview Status" is still pending review! Gosh, I will be crushed if this is bad news.

Hey guys,
Just chill out about the whole application process if you are a Cali resident. I interviewed at BOTH UCSF and UCSD before I interviewed for UCI (I finally decided to go to UCI). I even got my UCSF and UCLA secondary before I recieved my Davis one. Don't get too engrossed with the dates you recieve secondary requests or interview requests. I think the guy that proposed the theory about UCSF's interview request showing you how well you will do on the rest of your applications is completley bunk. The Cali schools get such a large number of applicants who are all very competitive so they may do some strange things to weed people out. (Example, UCI got about 7000-8000 applicants for 100 spots.) If I were you I'd take things in stride and enjoy the year before medical school. Good luck all!
 
Hmm... mine says the same thing. I'm going to be optimistic and say that this does not necessarily mean bad news. Under interview status it still says pending review. It would seem weird if all of us just got systematically rejected.
 
Unbelievable, I am still in shock. I had my hopes on getting an interview!

Yah, mine too, but it is possible they rejected all of us, and then updated their web system just an hour ago or so.

Okay, so I am a bit too pessimistic here maybe. I'm just gonna call.
 
I do know that this update must have happened fairly recently. I was just "making the rounds" with my status pages this morning and there had been no update at UCI.

You're right, but I suppose "No Action" is pretty clear.

It's okay. I've prepped myself for this. Besides, I have an interview thats more important for me to worry about.
 
I doubt that it means anything bad. Because UCI screens before secondaries, I doubt they rejected all of us before reviewing our files after we sent in secondaries. It's just probably something they added to say that we haven't been accepted/rejected/waitlisted yet. Last year, I was rejected pre-interview (after being on hold for MONTHS), and the site never said no action. Really, do'nt freak out until after they've reviewed ou file.
 
yeah, i'm starting to think that if it is the same for everyone, it's probably just a default setting then...

phewww... panic attack~ sorry for freaking everyone out!
 
Seriously, why would they reject all of us at one time? And so early in the interview season? It makes no sense. I think this is a false alarm. (I hope this is a false alarm.)
 
calm down everyone. i have that no action message to, and it is before my one month cut off date for submitting everything. it probably means the committee hasnt done anything yet, ie no action. for those you have interview status pending, it probably means the application is complete, but the committee again hasnt done anything, hence no action.
 
I've emailed them, just waiting for a reply.
 
I can't get through; keep getting a message thingy!
Frankly, I am still pretty worried, because, like mdsch00 said, it is pretty obvious that "No Action" means No.

If anyone gets an email back, can you please post. Meanwhile, I'll try them intermittently throughout the afternoon by phone.

My status page also says no action, and I took the August MCAT, so they don't even have my scores yet.
 
relaxxxxxxxx.... "no action" to me means that no action has been taken yet. an action would be "accepted" or "denied." besides, if uclastudent is any indication (i can't see the rest of your stats) you are too qualified to reject this early! what are some of the other stats getting this message?
 
No Action here too. They didn't even get my letters yet. My committee is a bit late in sending them, but htey said they called and UCI said it was okay. God, this sucks. My first official rejection? I hope not.
 
i just called them and got through. no action doesnt imply anything. its just their own record keeping. my LOR's arent complete, and my 1 month isnt up, so they said for me it means they havent touched the app yet since its not complete. she specifically said no action DOES NOT mean anything bad.

calm down all.

but, i swear this is too stressful. well that was a fun 45 minutes. now i can take one hand off "F5" to refresh SDN and the other to keep redialing UCI.

Admissions status: No action.

I dont understand why everyone is getting so huffy. This just clearly means that they havent even look at your app yet. Obviously your admissions status is under "no action" since you havent even gotten an interview. Anyways....unless it says "No interview" then i will realize ive been rejected! So take a chill pill, everyone!
 
damn, the first five posts of this thread made me feel like hell broke loose! we're all bound to be rejected by at least ONE school no matter how great our numbers are...I've learned to funnel my anger towards something more productive
 
I just checked my application status and I havent even sent in my secondary or LOR's yet. It says 'no action' under my admission status line as well. I think this means for those of you who have the same notification that it isnt relevant for your interview chances....glad to be the bearer of good news 🙂

For what it's worth, that "no action" thing is gone from my status page. Hahaha. 🙂
 
It's gone from mine too. Probably because they were getting too many calls from nervous pre-meds.
