For getting into a PhD program, do either of these (UC Irvine post-baccalaureate program and UC Berkeley post-bacc) have a clear advantage over the other? They both claim to involve research opportunities in faculty labs and classes to compensate for not taking psychology during undergrad.

Also, UCB is offering its courses through the main university, whereas UCI's classes are through the Extension Program. Does this matter?

You will absolutely get quality research experience at Berkeley. The program is very focused on the clinical science model. I know the current post-bac is working in Aaron Fisher's lab. Also, you can't beat taking classes with Hinshaw, Levenson, Keltner, and John. I think you'd really be happy with your experience.

You get your choice of lab that you want to work at with UCB. I believe another postbac is currently working in the Levenson lab which is pretty awesome.
