UCI Waitlist, anyone?

Thinking about sending a letter of intent or something.

Does anyone know how many are on the waitlist, and how many get accepted off the waitlist at UCI?

I'm not waitlisted (yet), but I think the chance of getting off is fairly high, say ~1/3. This is just a guess based upon what I've heard from several UCI med students (I work in a lab at the med school).

Also, to those who have been waitlisted, how long after your interview were you contacted? I interviewed on 3/5, and I'm starting to think that I may not get that phone call after all.

Its been like three weeks man. It takes a little longer than that for them to get back to you.

It's been four weeks (30 days, to be exact), but you still made me feel better.

I guess I'll find out by the end of the week or something.

Have you checked your status page? That's how I found out that I was on their alternate list.

Does anybody know when the alternate list is made into a waitlist and rejections are sent out? I've been on the alternate list since early december 🙁

Blah! Any ideas on how many people get off the waitlist? I was under the impression that it's about half the class? Or maybe that is just wishful thinking...cool avatar by the way 🙂

Why thank you 😀 . It's a painting of Eve by Gabe Leonard. He's got a website if you're interested in seeing his work. But anyway, regarding the waitlist, I think 1/3-1/2 sounds right. I remember someone on another thread saying UCI only has like a 37% applicant retention rate...so if that's true, it's good news for those on the waitlist.😀
