Uci Waitlist??

I've been on hold since my interview on 3/20.

Anyone heard/seen any changes regarding their status? It's been my understanding that 5/15 meant dividing the holds into rejects and waitlisted.

Keep us all posted so we know what's going on.

UCI is my last hope!!!

My status is still "on hold'. I also heard that they will have the waitlist started today, but I doubt that we will hear back from them today.

I'll post any changes.

i am still on hold since november too! it doesn't seem like things changed on may 15...on the status pages. how do you guys know...by the phone call or status page? thanks!!

phone call from ellena peterson, I interviewed there the first day they held it, oct 31...so have been waiting 6 months!! uci is my top choice, will matriculate there....uci has a lot of waitlist movements, so your chances are still very good ... the status page didn't change until two days later.....

wow q, thats crazy, i guess its been worth the wait then. UCI was my top choice when I started this whole thing and it goes in and out each day. good luck everyone, hopefully it doesnt take each of us 6 months to find out.

I work right at the uci medical school, so if you guys tell me your name, whenever I pass by ellena peterson I will randomly yell out your name so she will unconciously remembers it ... and when it's time to fill a withdrawal spot it might help you ...

I just called the admissions office this morning. They told me that they were still putting together their alternate list and that I should check back Thursday.

just a question...when they said they are still putting the alternate list together...does that mean that it is only waiting list and rejections left or are they still accepting??? just wondering. what does the may 15 deadline really mean? does that mean that if you have multiple acceptances you can only hold one of them? how do they know if you are holding onto more than 1???

Nygirl, they are compiling the alternate list (pretty big one I think) and those that don't make it are rejected. Schools find out where you are holding acceptances from AAMC. You are risking your acceptances if they find out you're holding multi-spots.

actually, i am not holding multiple acceptances...that is why i was wondering if that was possibly what may be happening at irvine...i don't have multiple acceptances to hold🙁!!!!!!

couple of thing....i am not sure if holding more than i spot matters in their decision make... i recently got into uci, and uci thinks i am holding multiple spots (i withdrew but it did not show up yet on the AAMC)...
uci 's hold after interview/alternate's list is definately moving... good luck everyone :clap:

Hello--I received a phone call at lunch today from Dr. Peterson. She said that I had been accepted and to expect a packet from them soon. I interviewed at the beginning of April and have been "on-hold" since then. So for y'all that are on hold - have faith! It looks like there are still acceptances, not just waitlist spots.

yup they are accepting... just got the e-mail today. Four more years at uci, can't wait 😀 . good luck to those waiting. as for the detail the website stated decision letter sent on may 19th and i though freakin ay i got rejected but today i recieved an e-mail from dr. peterson. they are accepting without putting on the waitlist first so have faith. good luck to all.

i called today, and they said i was still on hold. they said i could call at the end of this week or beginning of next to find out if i'm in the top or bottom half of the waitlist. hopefully i will not be rejected post-interview -- ugh!

so whats up with them, are they still sending out acceptances or are they finally done? I checked my email and no go there. I'm kind of surprised they emailed you an acceptance. any word on if we have to call about the waitlist or if it will show up on our status page?

Still on hold as well. I am planning to call the office on Fri to see what's going on and when they are planning to finally let us know re: waitlist status.

yeah, i'm scared too! hopefully i will be waitlisted and not rejected. she wasn't very clear when i talked to her. i should have asked for clarification.
i know you are waiting on davis as well. are you in anywhere else? i can't remember.

ma bad... i guess i should have clarified this. the reason why she sent me an e-mail was b/c she couldn't reach me via telephone... i don't know why she didn't leave me a message on my answering machine but whatever, i aint complaining.

I completely agree!! I read in one of the other posts re: getting off the waitlist right before school starts. I never knew that if you're on a waiting list at one school and you attend orientation/registration at another, you can not go to the 1st school if you get off the waitlist. So, with the rate that UCI is going, if we don't hear anything by August, some of use will start the registration process at another school. Wouldn't it suck if you start school somewhere else and hear back from UCI the next day??!??!

@the beggining of this week, they said that we should hear by Thur or Fri and today, they're saying that we'll hear next week. Sorry, but I'm really frustrated!!
