I got the good news this afternoon. I'M IN. I can't believe how lucky I've been throughout this process.

Congratulations to all my accepted SDN peers. I knew we would make it through.

I hope all of you who are still waiting get that status change soon enough. It must be tough, but good things come to those who wait.
 
i can't remember...does anyone know if the second batch in last year's thread was all rejections? or was it mixed? (sorry to bring down the party--great job, elastase, rosiemary, geegollygosh, rebs, waterlily!!! truly madly deeply! 🙂 )

p.s. wait, drborisCA, you're a girl? heh what a shock...why that screenname? (am i jus really dense and missing some extremely obvious allusion or sumthin?)
 
It's cool to see so many dreams come true. I interviewed in late october and recieved my letter yesterday. It was a big R.... No just joking. I was accepted! Good luck to those still waiting.

Status changes today? Anyone? Not me...
 
its still early in the day. Status changes usually occur between 1-3pm it seems.
 
I interviewed first week of November...it's been painful waiting this long to hear, but what can I do? I can only be patient and hope and pray for a status change sometime this month...if my status changes within March, I know I'm in by the looks of what happened with all the other acceptances this past week. I am so excited, though, for all of you who have already been accepted. That's awesome!!
 
Some forces are working against me posting on this forum! This is my third attempt. Ummm...Let's see if it works.

I interviewed in late october and just recieved my letter yesterday. Good luck to those still waiting! I am looking forward to accepted students weekend to learn more about the school since they did a horrible job during the interview season.
 
Hi All -

I finally gave in and gave the admissions office a call today to ask about when I could hear. Here's the information I got: from this point, decisions will be made monthly, on or around the 15th (just like UCSF). So, to make sure her explanation was airtight, I asked "So, that means that the earliest I could hear from UCLA at this point would be around the third week of March?" She said yes. Take what you will from that exchange.

I feel like this is the underground UCLA thread...since we can only see posts when you hit reply (and scroll to post history). Really strange...

hahahaha. i actually laughed out loud when you said this is like an underground UCLA thread. its so true.

why does SDN have to get screwy at this time of all times.
 
To all the folks still waiting like me:

I called the admission office yesterday to ask when I could potentially hear back (I interviewed 11/05). The woman told me that are generally sending out decisions on the 15th of the month (like UCSF, I guess). She said the earliest I could hear back from UCLA would be after that date this month. So, I guess this means that we should all hold our horses until 3/15 or so. Can anyone confirm this?

Along the same lines, if we're interviewing now, is it for an acceptance or for a waitlist spot?
 
i called the admin office yesterday and they said that the "second batch" would be going out in about 2 weeks or so...

can someone confirm this?

UCLA was my only Cali interview and all others were out of state... Strangely enough, I am still waiting on 20 schools but whatever happens, I'm in heaven b/c I'm now in my DREAM school!!!!!

Finally back to the good ol' UCLA Acceptance Thread...I didn't think it would be fixed (I will never doubt again)...

Thats good that there were two confirmations for new decisions going out in two weeks. Good luck everyone! 👍

unfortunately, i don't have that choice unlike some of the more outstanding applicants this year 🙁 . but if i really had to choose... i would have to go with LA cuz... i know this really hot guy who's going into this year's class 😛. j/k, j/k bad reason, i know ( he's still hot though, ladies). really though, i'm like the worst person to get asked this question cuz at this point, i'm like a stray dog, i'll go with anyone that gives me a lil attention and feeds me.

*sigh* 2 whole weeks??? but i can't wait that long... guess i know what I'LL be doing during finals week (surfing SDN, screw PChem 😳 )
 
does anyone know around what time UCLA is having their second look weekend? And also, the logistics of what's covered for costs and stuff for that?

Someone on this thread said earlier that it would be on May 6th. I have no idea if that is correct, but I'll be there either way.

from what i understand, its the 2nd look weekend. therefore its for accepted students only.

dont worry... we'll both be there. f'SHO.
 
Recruitment day is the same as second look day, for accepted applicants. It is a good thing to attend, even if you're 100% set on coming to UCLA. You get spoiled. Free UCLA SoM gear, mingling with the faculty, catered breakfast and lunch, etc. Plus, you get to meet your future classmates. I had a blast. 😀

Off topic, but the first-years just finished Block 3 finals today. I passed!!! I had to post it somewhere, haha. 🙂
 
Hey, anyone know when UCLA might be sending out the next batch of interview invites? Or should I assume they're pretty much done sending out invites? 😳 I'd love to get an interview there but it seems time is running out...

Letter sent 3/3/06.

Damn I just happened to check my status by force of habit. I was almost 100% sure they wouldn't send it until the 15th (like they said at the admissions office). What's wrong with these people? They never seem to know when they're gonna do anything?

But anyhooo AAAAAHHHH i know the letter won't get here by tomorrow, so it'll probably be here monday but WAAAAAAAAAAA i'm scared and excited and just, well, pumped!

CHECK YOUR STATUS, fellow unfortunate peoples who haven't heard back yet! (kirexhana, you haven't right?)

OH MY GOD!!! I'm so nervous now! My letter was sent, too...and I interviewed on Feb. 3rd! That has to be the fastest turn around EVER for UCLA. Good luck, everyone!!!!! :luck:

Oh! And what's crazier is that if the letter arrives on Monday, I could have the best or worst birthday of my life so far. AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! :scared:

Status change...letter sent 3/3/06

Just out of curiousity did anyone else interview with Dr.Fulco?
 
Fulco? I had him for Biochem 153B, funny guy.
 
Ha, I didn't know that Fulco teaches undergrad! He teaches the first-year med and dental students, too. He is hilarious.

you know i cant help but think the same thing. If two people on the adcom stated next batch of acceptances are going out mid-march, could this be just a batch of WL/rejections?

man. 2 more days.
