UCLA-Drew Interview Question

Hello SDN people. I just got the invite from UCLA-Drew to interview. Someone informed me a while back that Drew invites about 30-40 students a month to interview on the same day. Does anyone know what day of the month Drew does their interviews this year? Thanks in advance for your help.

i don't know about much about this school, but i will be there on the 16th of feb. so, perhaps that is the date, but i don't know much, not even . . . where the interview is at. hope this helps.

JDUB, thanks for the info. I forgot about your post earlier this year.

The interviews are at the Drew campus in Watts. Across the street from the Drew campus is MLK-Drew Medical Center. Nothing is scheduled to happen at the UCLA-Westwood main campus, unless you are the rare case that has to interview there.

I agree, there is not much information on their website. However, as someone else wrote earlier, they are committed to training physicians to practice in underserved communities.

A person I know was invited to interview there this past Saturday. I don't know whether they interview that many people on the same day, but
you never know. In addition, the interview does
take place on the Drew campus in South Central
LA.

To put things into perspective, I volunteered in the MLK-Drew emergency room a few years ago. I spent a couple of summers there. It was a good learning experience. I was friends with a few residents and they had this to say about Drew:

Attending: Are you interested in a good teaching experience?

Me: Yes

Attending: Are you interested in supervised mentorship?

Me: yes, yes!

Attending: Then go somewhere else. For god's sake, don't stay here.

I interviewed on Sat. and yeah there was about 26 of us, but it was a pretty relaxing interview
