Just a few questions, any help would be much appreciated.

Has UCLA finished giving out interviews? Does anyone know how late they gave them out last year? and finally, have they sent out any rejections for post-secondary, pre-interviwers?

Damn I want to go to UCLA...
 
I'm in the same boat, dude.

I've heard that the UCLA admissions office is pretty slow.

I sent them an update letter a couple days ago.

Man I think its bull **** how ucla thinks their harvard b/c everyone wants to be in LA.

UCLA median: 35 MCAT
Overall GPA: 3.8
Science GPA: 3.8

Harvard median: 35 MCAT
Overall GPA: 3.8
Science GPA: 3.8

See the similarities? And UCLA is nearly 13 rankings below Harvard, which is considered one of the top medical school in the world.

I interviewed there last last year, and they told me at that time Feb. 15. I called back recently and they're now saying early March.

How does the average GPA/MCAT of their class have anything to do with what UCLA thinks of itself? If anything, it's a reflection of what the applicant pool thinks of UCLA. 🙄

That being said, as an applicant, I would take UCLA over Harvard in a heartbeat.

I don't think you are quick enough to take anything in a heartbeat, but I agree about UCLA vs Harvard. How gives a siht about Harvard?
 
They are still giving out some interviews.

Sorry, Im confused--you interviewed in 2007 or last cycle? So, for this cycle, they're now saying MARCH? This waiting game is hard....i need a vacation... 🙁

Sorry for the confusion. I meant late 2007 i.e. December.

Oh super! That gives me a little more time to send an update letter before they waitlist me.
 
Last year, they were interviewing people through april. And I definitely know a fair number of people who interviewed around that time and were accepted, and are now at UCLA--so hope is not lost!

I sent them an update letter on Tuesday.

Fingers AND toes crossed.
 
i interviewed early november, and was told i'd find out early january. But now, it seems like we won't find out until late feb/ early march. this sucks butt! I want to know my decision, so i can cancel other interviews/save money if i get in...
 
It could be that the first acceptances will still go out mid February, but since BruinCat86 didn't interview until, they gave him a later date? Bruincat- did you ask specifically for your decision or when decisions in general would start?
I agree, it is very frustrating. I interviewed in the beginning of October and am eager to hear!

Just got my rejection from UCLA. Twice in 4 years...bitches.

I didn't ask about my own status, just when general decisions would be made, though they might have told me based on my status. However, the student interviewer told me that they are always late and that the first acceptances came out in late February early March last cycle.

Complete in freakin early *** August.

I got it in the mail today. It was dated Feb 1st. Then again, I live about 50 miles away so it shouldn't take that long to get to me. I'd be very interested to see if others got a letter around this time too. Maybe the letters for others who aren't as close may come Monday?

Did anyone's status page change before they got rejected? I just want to be prepared...
 
mine's post-secondary.

and the Pau/Kwame deal still made my weekend a good one overall 🙂

They are eligible to apply! If you're a ucla guy, then you absolutely know how tough it is to get season tickets to basketball...

I was wondering this same thing until I got my rejection letter this morning. There is no indication on my status page.
 
I got my rejection letter in the mail today.

I checked my status last night and it hadn't changed. I checked it today and it said "a letter has been sent" in the row for Final Decision.

I'm very sorry to all who were rejected! I'm sure things will work out for you all elsewhere.
Do you mind my asking if these are pre or post-interview rejections?

Damn, I just checked my status, and it says Final Decision Letter Sent. Oh well. I'm very happy with the interviews I've received, and hopefully more are coming.

I think these were all pre-interview (at least mine was). For what it's worth, I'm OOS.

I got my interview invite last week, but I haven't been able to schedule the date. How long did it take for you guys to hear for the interview date? Thanks! I am very excited =)
 
They sent me a confirmation e-mail within the same day of when I submitted my interview availability (last week).

Yeah I'm also experiencing the same problem. I got an interview invite last week and haven't been able to schedule a date. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
 
they got back to me within 4 days with the date
