I was wondering...for two bedroom apartments, do they set it so that both people will be moving in on the same date? Or will it be random e.g. will my roomate be living there since August 1st while I'm moving in September 1st?

I think it's random because I'm moving in on Sept. 1st and my roommate is already there.

just in case you new weyburn people don't know, a parking decal in the underground garage for the whole year costs $803. I am now officially broke and havent even bought furniture 😡

Worst effing news of the summer.... what a friggen bummer!!!

The spots better have our name painted on them in platinum based paint and each have their own individual ex-navy seal to protect the car at night.

Also, if i don't get my roomate and financial aid info really soon... i think i'm going to apply to med school or become a stripper or do something else really bad.

Your plastic cheap-ass looking wax master will cost you 500$. A handpiece will go for 500 and above. I can name other things that will cost that much. Isn't life great?

Thanks, but it's $61 for the book + the course. I don't think you can sell me a 1v1 CPR course =)

To the people who said housing is rude, I had the exact opposite experience. I went to their office in person while I was touring Weyburn, and they changed my move-in date from August 15 to September 1 in literally 2 minutes or less. No problems at all. Maybe you just caught the wrong rep =/

Don't buy their rip off book. I'll just lend you mine. Take that 60 or so money that you'll save and buy some dental related books - they'll come in much handier.

I got my assignment for Weyburn last week. I will be living in Olive Court. My view consists of the VETERANS CEMETERY, since my studio is streetside! Pretty exciting eh? Not!

For those who haven't gotten their housing assignment e-mail yet, it has your roomate info, apartment #, and move-in date (which you should already know).

I also noticed a bunch of U-hauls today, so for anyone that was wondering, I don't think that having a U-Haul will be a hassle. They also set aside the visitor parking spots for the people moving in (but I think they only do this on the 1st and 15th of Aug and Sep).

I really enjoy living at the place myself - hope nobody moves in with me forever.

Look at the bright side. Every time I see the cemetery, it reminds me of how fragile life even though statistically woman live to 80 and man live to 76, but we really are just few minutes away from death. Why aren't we experiencing tragedy? Why aren't we in the Lebanese/Israeli conflict? Being at UCLA School of Dentistry is a huge tremendous privelege that the universe/God/past-merits has allowed for it to happen.

Every time, I walk past the corner of Westwood and Wilshire, it reminded me of the bus I took when I came to UCLA for waxing workshops. I'm not here to preach, but when I hear my classmates disliking summer school, and other negativities - it behooves me, and practically ire the heck out of me. Dude. As dentists, we'll be making more money than 90% of the US population. What more can we ask for? Easier classes? More summer? Less clinic? Better administration? STFU and enjoy the school. School is hard? Go build a fence in a hot summer day. Go be a gardener. Go be a secretary who basically have to take direction day in and day out.

- just my little rant on dental students who rant. You can say that I fall in the category of dental students who rant - well yes, it is a loop isn't it.

Yes there is, so I wouldn't worry about it, but don't take you expensive bike here. My earlier one was stolen here.

You will learn to love your wax master. It's worth more than the $500 you paid for it. It probably cost $50 to make, but I'd pay over $500 for it.

Handpiece, $500? A slowspeed handpiece with motor, torque adapter, and angle latch attachment will run you somewhere in the neighborhood of $850. I hope you incoming first years get hooked up with the titanium Star dental handpieces. They're sweeeeeeeeeet.

No school is run in the most optimal way possible. So that's what most of us rant/rave about. I don't think anyone of us, when asked, will say we're not fortunate for being here.

It's just getting ONE appointment for a patient will require you running from your computer to the GPA's desk to check for Perio coverage, and then down to the lobby to get an OD appointment...and not just *any* OD appointment, only those that are available at 9am and 2pm. Oh, and those are usually booked about a week and a half in advance.

If your patient can't make it when there's Perio coverage, you have to wait sometimes a week, maybe two, and up to three weeks for the next time you can see them.

So yea, you'll hear us complaining. Doesn't mean we're not glad to be here. If hearing complaining irks you, you'll hate listening to kids in the clinic. And to think, this new system is better than the one in years past! =) I'm really glad for the changes though.

That's all you pretty much have to know now, since the interest rates are going to be fixed at 6.8% for a while. No consolidation paperwork, nothing to think about. =P
