Hey, I have one more question. In regards to the 1 yr. English requirement, if you already have credit for Eng Comp 3, would a GE Cluster for the whole year satisfy the other part of the yr since it provides Writing II credit?

You'll have to check with the individual schools as to whether or not it'll meet THEIR requirement. No one can tell you for sure what every med school will take for their req.

Yes, the spring quarter seminar part of the cluster fulfills the Writing II requirement.

I was originally MIMG when I came to UCLA, but switched to Bio my junior year because the flexibility allowed for a double major with my other passion, French literature. If you've always had a great interest in the humanities, but still want to remain grounded in the sciences, I'd suggest shooting for a double major with Biology and xxxx (fill in with humanities major that will strike a good balance). I have found this combination to be immeasurably fulfilling and has balanced my undergrad education in a way I didn't think possible...It also doesn't look too bad to med schools to see that you aren't just another typical pre-med package, and that you have interests elsewhere, as well... 😉

UCLA admission SPECIFICALLY said that THREE quarters for Eng Requirement has to be from either Eng Comp or Eng classes... Can't be something like Scandanavian Lit 40W , LS 2W and so forth..

Not true.

Are you talking about the 1-year English requirement for UCLA med school? The cluster will only count for 1 quarter of the English requirement. You'll still need to take two other quarters of English to fulfill the requirement. Testing out of Eng. Comp. III doesn't count with respect to med school.
