Maybe try to pinpoint some specific things about UCLA that make you be able to say "I could see myself happy there" (could be as abstract as the "atmosphere" to as practical as housing). Then ask some Hopkins students about those things at Hopkins. Career wise I think both will be fantastic for what you wantThe worry is that I am unsure if I will enjoy Baltimore because I didn't attend second look. During my interview, I wasn't enamored nor put off. But, after second look at UCLA, I could see myself being happy there-- not to say I won't enjoy Baltimore.
I did exactly that and it seems that while Hopkins beat UCLA in cost of living, UCLA has weather on its side. But with the tuition difference, UCLA is still cheaper.Maybe try to pinpoint some specific things about UCLA that make you be able to say "I could see myself happy there" (could be as abstract as the "atmosphere" to as practical as housing). You are completely right. I spoke to a lot of current students and they agreed that Hopkins is not competitiveHopkins is not competitive. In my experience, it isn't at all. I wouldn't let that figure in.
Congrats!! You will not regret it.Thanks the advice, everyone! I just received financial aid and cost of attendance is very very different (UCLA is ~20k cheaper per year). With that information, I've decided to attend UCLA!
