sorry, i shouldn't have asked. i stupidly assumed everyone in the 5/22 batch was in. good luck, though! (sorry if this sounds trite and meaningless...it isn't meant to be) :luck:

would you know if the people on the UCLA/UCR waitlist are included as part of the total pool of people on the UCLA waitlist, or do they have their own list, own waitlist movement, etc? ..heh heh as if knowing this really makes a difference.

no harm done. i know all too well the immense anxiousness associated with the incredibly long waiting process, and how any single bit of information helps bring some sort of comfort. let me know if you have any other questions.

i've been following this thread for a bit, just to see how UC waitlists are moving in general (i didn't even get an interview at UCLA). i just wanted to say good luck to everyone here! i know waiting for a UC is tough (i'm waiting for UCSD myself) but hopefully something good and worth the wait will come out of it!

Is it me, or does it seem like most of the movement that has occurred is for those who are in the UCLA/UCR applicant pool. Maybe they haven't started looking at the regular unranked waiting list yet? Can anybody confirm this if they called the admissions committee recently? Thanks.

I just got a status change on my UCLA page dated 5/31. Does that mean I got in off the waitlist? It says the final letter sent again. Hmm.

If so I really wish they would have told me like a month ago! I already moved into housing for UCSD, but I really wanted to go to UCLA more.

stevenrf, id imagine its good news...
i have to ask: whats with that signature you have about teachers treating kids poorly then getting thrashed at home...kind of disturbing?

Sweet, then it looks like I'm moving again back to LA.

As for the sig. It's the words to the song "The Happiest Days of Our Lives" by pink floyd. The track comes right before "Another Brick in the Wall Part 2." Not a classic rock fan? Basically I just hate school. Years of bad experiences I guess.
 
Steven- did you get on campus housing at UCSD?

Edit: also, just wondering- (directed to anyone who got off the waitlist) did you send any updates to UCLA?

Yea. Im in the single graduate apartments right now. Not that great, but the school wouldnt give me financial aid for summer so I had to turn down my offer for a nice one bed room at La Jolla Del Sol. Oh well. 400 vs 1100. Unfortunately I got stuck with 2 science grad students who dont speak english that well and dont leave their rooms except to use the restroom and cook. The house smeels like a korean bbq. :laugh:

Amen! I was sad cause I noticed someone had spray-painted an O or some **** on one of the signs last time I was through there. 🙁
 
i also got a status change on 5/31, another final decision letter was sent...hopefully it's good news 😀

as for anyone who is wondering:

interview: late december
waitlist: 3/6
updates sent: LOI, update letter, new transcript

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if all these 5/31 changes are rejects. (I'll be crying on the inside since real men don't cry).


Maybe they should build a gas station / tourist trap right there at zzyzx. You could put up a sign like "50 miles Take a picture with the lucky zzyzx."
 
Just got my letter. 5/31 = acceptance.!!! YAHOOO I cant wait to wear my FUCLA shirt from freshman year at all the USC UCLA football games!!!!

Im going going back back to cali cali!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anybody here feel like they're going to die from this wait, especially if you haven't been accepted anywhere? I think this is the most depressing think I've ever been through. If I apply again and they ask me in an application, "What's the hardest thing you have had to do?" I'm going to write, "WAITING LISTS!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH SHOOT ME".

I haven't been accepted anywhere either. This is very painful...I was in westwood this weekend and couldn't stop thinking about how close, yet how far away I am from being a UCLA med student. As soon as I finish my masters thesis this week I am starting the MCAT studying!!!!
 
Are you planning to apply this summer or next? I'm also going to start studying for the MCAT. Sigh... Computer MCATs should be fun. So stupid how they changed it.
