Hi Everyone!

I'll be graduating from UConn this May with a business degree in health care management. But going to medical school has always been my true goal-so I'm going to go for it! I have no pre-med requirements done, so a few weeks ago, I applied to UConn's Post-Bacc pre-med program A. I'm just wondering if many people have applied this year and if anyone heard anything from admissions yet. Lynda sent an email that said we should hear back by mid-March or the end of March.

I'm really anxious! Has anyone been invited for an interview yet? Also, does anyone know anything about Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) and their pre-health post bacc program? This is my back up plan. Thanks 🙂

hey! i also applied but to the plan B . i haven't heard anything yet, but i'm not putting too much hope in it cause i heard they strongly prefer CT residence which i'm not so i'm not too anxious to hear back lol

I applied to Plan B but DEFINITELY didnt get my LORs in before the deadline so i dunno If my app was even accepted. I should follow up on that..lol

Haha Yea I've heard that they do prefer CT students but who knows-It sounds lk you have other options though so that's good. Im banking on this progam! Lol i don't have many other good options

Lol yea my application was cutting it close too- I got everything in less than a week before the deadline. Did you get an email that said your application was complete? Lynda sent that out to everyone a few weeks ago. She said we would be notified by mid-march and interviews are done in April. But I hear that this program always runs a few weeks behind when making decisions. I'm really anxious though!

yeah i didnt get that email lol. i should try and follow up but its not my first option and yeah, Ive heard similar things about them not taking many OOS students also as taurus13 said. Glad you got your application in though and I hope you get in!!!

I applied a couple of years ago - they took 9 students the year before me, 8 were in-state. The year I applied (2009-2010) decisions weren't made until end of May/beginning of June

Well I got a call for an interview today...after about a month of checking my email like every 5 minutes lol. They're holding interviews over the next few weeks. I'm not sure how many were called in for interviews but hopefully we should know the final decisions by the end of April/early May. If anyone else gets called for an interview, good luck!

Oh wow! that's great...you're just a step closer and i hope you get in! i still haven't heard anything yet...i figured they might as well send me my rejection email earlier (not trying to be negative lol) instead of keeping me waiting and me thinking i might still have hope lol

Well after weeks of anxiously waiting, I got my acceptance letter on Saturday! I've heard nothing but great things about UConn's post bacc program, so I'm really excited! If anyone who got accepted sees this, send me a message! It'd be nice to meet others in the program 🙂

Ive taken post-bac classes at CCSU. I am transferring to UCONN this Fall to complete my pre-dental requirements there as a Biology major.

Your fall-back should be Bio/Chem etc major and just take pre-reqs under the guise of being one of these majors. Youll need to be classified as getting a second bachelors anyway- assuming youll need financial aid.
