I recently was accepted to the University of Connecticut and the University of Maryland, Shady Grove Campus. for Pharmacy School. I am trying to figure out what would be the best option for myself. I am already a graduate from the University of Connecticut with a BS in Physiology and Neurobiology, and I have lived in CT my whole life. So by going to UCONN I would save a lot of money with in-state tuition, but I have read that University of Maryland was a little better of school (ranked 17, UCONN ranked 26) and getting of CT might be a good idea. I don't have a great amount of money saved up so I would come out of either school with a lot debt but its a question of how much debt. Anyway, I wanted to open this up to see what other people thought about these schools and which one would be the better pick. Thanks.

Out of state tuition for University of Maryland is like 37k per year. I think it would be better just to stay at UCONN with in state tuition. Plus I don't think rank 17 versus ranked 26 is that much of a difference IMO. But good luck.

Don't bother leaving Connecticut. Both of these are respectable schools with good outcomes for graduates. You're not comparing a respected school with a brand new, for profit, or sketchy private institution, so save yourself the (significant) cost difference and stay local!

I would make the same choice, and I'm actually a big fan of the rankings -- I just think they should be viewed appropriately in light of personal situations.

Thanks guys. I read about getting in state for Maryland, it says that I have to prove to them that I'm not just living in Maryland for educational purposes, how am I supposed to accomplish that?

you might also wanna ask about the income requirement, i.e. you might need to require to make certain income to be considered for in-state status.
