Uconn

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does this kinda crap happen at alot of schools? It seems like 2-3 per 100 students actually gets kicked out of UConn ds. I heard that around 2 weeks ago, they gave the old heave ho to one of the nicest ppl. (Just business as usual at UConn ds 🙂. ) Now, I didn't know the guy all that well, but from what I did know, he was very nice to me, his roomate really liked him, and others seemed to really like him. So, what's the deal? I heard (don't know how true it is) that he got on the bad side of the prostho dept. Yup, that's right, the infamous prostho dept. Are all prostho depts this bad?!😕 😱 🙁 👎

I heard they booted a senior. Don't know details....don't even know if it's true yet. I'm just praying it isn't. To go through all that work and spend all of that money....for nothing. It was devastating when a 3rd year was thrown out when I was there.

I'm really praying this isn't true. Maybe someone else can share if they know???? Holy Thursday, you seem to know little more than i do. We both need to do some checking around.

Just a quick question for all of you who've had interviews at UConn this year. I've read both positive and negative reviews of the UConn interview process. (Some think it's pretty laid back. Others seem to think its the hardest interview in the dental admissions world.) I'm interested to know if specific interviewers have anything to do with the polar opposite opinions of the school.

So who interviewed you and what were your thoughts on the difficulty of the interview?

Just going from the previous posts written on this site, former students described a few bad faculty members, who hold positions of influence in the administration. Unfortunately, because of their influence, they can overshadow some great teachers and humanists. Depending on whether the former or latter group interviewed you... that might explain the expansive divide in post interview opinions of the school.

Why do you care if the interviewers were nice to you? What matters is what happens DURING ds.

I'm so happy no more in-laws to deal with--at leasst not until next year.

I'm sad cuz I found out more info about the guy kicked out. I was good friends with the guy who was the roomate of the guy who got kicked out. He confirmed that he had been kicked out, but didn't know why. He did say that the prostho dept was all over his ass, but didn't go into elaborations. The guy that got kicked out should've just gotten buff and then gotten a GQ makeover to flirt with the female subhead of that dept. That would've solved the problem. That's how several males got away with murder with her.

So, when you say...
"Just so you know, come graduation time, a little over 25% of my class had dropped out, been kicked out, or failed an entire academic year!"
What percentage of your class was dropped/kicked out?
Does UCONN charge you for repeating another year?
Thanks!

UConn admins treat students like garbage; they have and will dismiss students.
