i don't think they reject anyone post interview. either you get in, or you're placed in the 'acceptable applicants' pool, and they make the real waitlist from that pool at around may.

How many get in from that list

they only accept 20-30% intially i think...
so about 70% of the 280 acceptances get in from that list... KEEP UR HOPES UP!

actually i stand corrected, i believe some people do get rejected post interview.
i think the actual amount of movement fluctuates from year to year, so everything's up in the air. did you interview with the dean?

ya... and i was the only one... so im trying to figure out if its a good thing. She was SUPER nice... did u interview with the dean?

I was told by Yvonne Coleman that no one gets rejected unless you screwed up real bad. Most get placed on acceptable list and then eventually waitlisted or rejected. And they do pull from the list throughout the season. It sure doesn't seem like it though since i haven't heard of anyone being pulled off on SDN.

have any of u guys got in yet? sashimi... how was ur other interview.... how was ur interview with the dean?

My interviewer cancelled on me so I ended up with the Dean as well. It was a little tough at first. Not becuse she wasn't very nice but because I knew I was being sized up and I could tell she had a really good sense of people instinctually. So I guess I was feeling a bit eager to make this great impression on her. But we got comfortable with each other pretty quickly and it was a great interview. She was extremely receptive to my career goals so I sensed she would be supportive of my admittance. I ended up getting in so I do think if you get a chance to meet with the Dean it's a great opportunity to sell yourself. Obviously she can really pull some weight if she likes you.

Hey dxw! Long time no see around the boards. Heard you got into UCSD. Congrats. Guess you'll be moving back from DC. Still remember your wonderful offer to drive me from the airport. That's why people from SF are instinctively cooler than others 👍 Hopefully, I'll be able to join you at UCSD in September!

anyone else? 🙂

Hey! Nice to hear from you too! No problem regarding the offer. I was so happy to do it. And yes, I have moved back to SF and luckily found a job. So I'm still keeping myself pretty busy this year but now I have so much less time to post on SDN. Good luck on UCSD! I really hope you get in. If it's your top choice, don't forget to write a letter of intent. I've heard it makes a big difference to let them know.

There's suppose to be a committee meeting today, at least from what they told us at the meeting. So those who interviewed 2-3 weeks ago are being reviewed.
