I'm writing the autobiography for the UCSD secondary essay, and I don't know how to begin! My primary essay is based on a sad story that centers around a patient I met at a hospital, but I feel like I answered my secondary in it already. I thought about writing of another patient I met, but my friend tells me that it might bore them, especially since I dedicated my primary to one already. Do you think it would be okay if I just made it a straightforward linear progression of my life? Or would it be better to go all literary and have a central/recurring dramatic theme, etc.?

I interviewed there last year and simply wrote a linear progression type story. It was funny at times and sad at others. I think the key is to make it interesting. The end had a paragraph that kind of transitioned to why I want to be a doctor/where I'm at now.
