Just got an email from UCSD offering me acceptance. They are sending out the letter. I cannot believe it! UCSF yesterday and UCSD today!!

Hey me too! I just got my acceptance email today. I'm so psyched... and confused on what school to attend!!! 😍 I'm wondering if all emails are the same becaues mine was worded different from the other poster, mine says:

I am pleased to inform you that the Admissions Committee has unanimously voted to offer you a position in the Class of 2010 of the UCSD School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Attached to this e-mail is a copy of an offer letter. The signed original will be placed in the mail to you today. You have two weeks to respond to this offer but we would appreciate a response as quickly as you can decide. Please follow the instructions in the letter for responding to this offer. I hope that your decision will be to join us at UCSD this fall.

Don't worry just yet, Bauhinia. Someone posted that the admissions office will send out letters by the third week of March, which is next week. Then again, during the interview, UCSD said that the latest we could possibly hear is the first week of April. So don't lose hope yet. 🙂

I got placed on the alternate list. I just received the letter today and it is dated March 14th. I'm content with this; I didn't expect to get accepted anyway. I wonder if everyone who interviews and did not receive an acceptance gets on the alternate list... Has anyone received a rejection after they have interviewed?

I also got my letter today. No, not everyone was placed on the alternate list. I know because I was denied admissions to the program at UCSD. They said it was because I will not be earning a BS degree this spring, so compared to the other applicants, I am still early in my academic career. Surprisingly, I am actually content with this. 🙂 It was a great experience to go through the applications process-- the paper work, the interview, the stressful waiting. 🙂 Good practice for next year. Congrats to all those who got accepted, and also to those who are on the alternate list. It was a great experience this admissions cycle. Best wishes to all in your career development. 🙂

I called the admissions office prior to getting my letter today. They said that the bulk of the letters were mailed out on Wednesday (3/15). So maybe you'll receive it tomorrow. But also, they said that they're also making some last minute changes. So some letters may be sent out next week. Good luck!

got my rejection letter today. I think i might be the first to get it. sad thing is i didn't think about pharmacy until last summer and i'm graduating this spring. so i don't even know what to do now. don't know if i should even reapply next year. 🙁

On the bright side, the fact that you even got the interview means you have already beaten >800 other applicants. You should definitely reapply next year if you are not accepted to any school this year. Just spend the next year making yourself more prepared.

It was sent by mail dated 3/15. Don't give up yet you might be placed on the alternate list even if you are not accepted. I was very disappointed but I had a bad interview (i could sense that they didn't like me) 🙁 and my stats are not great (did I mention that my grades are slipping? 😡 ). I don't hold a leadership position and have done little volunteering. Would really be happy if I could go to that school. good luckkkkkkkkkk, hope you will hear from ucsd soon!!!

It seems like many people have not received notification from UCSD. Has anyone else been put on the alternate list? I e-mailed to ask how many are on the list but I have not received a response yet.

I just called UCSD, and they sent out another batch of letters this morning. So, some of you should expect something in your mailbox in a couple of days. Sorry to tell you this during the finals week (for those in the quarter system).

So I received a response from UCSD regarding the alternate list. For those who are curious, they would not tell me how many people are on the list and apparently, they do not rank people either. I don't know how that's going to work! 🙄

yeah, the class of 2008 is 30 students (i think) and the class of 2009 is also 60 students, and they both still say 25...

Kind of too obvious a mistake to make...

UCSD may have their numbers a little off in the profile for C/O 2010. I had an interview and I will not have earned a BS degree prior to matriculation, so that 100% is not accurate. Wonder if any other numbers are off? 😛

So I got my rejection letter few days ago. 🙁 I am still trying to get over it...UCSD would have been an awesome school to go to!! SD is such a beautiful place and it's got such a nice weather! And their program sounded really ambitious and practical, too. I don't know about you guys, but if I had to choose between UCSD and UCSF, I would choose UCSD! Don't get me wrong...SF is nice, but it really can't beat SD's weather and location... 😳

Well if location is what really matters to some people, then yes, SD is ideal. SF isn't too bad, but their program is excellent.

The last minute decisions were made by the committee sometime last week and letters were mailed. But I believe at the interview, they said that you will know no later than the first week of April. Good luck!

I was surprised to have been waitlisted at UCSD. Coming out of the interview, I thought of only one word to describe my experience: pathetic. I was really upset because it was my first interview. It doesn't matter though-- I have been accepted at UCSF 🙂 and I withdrew my application from UCSD. If I didn't get into UCSF, I would be happy to be on their waitlist... maybe they felt bad for me because they took out the wrong application at my interview.

I was offered to be placed on the waiting list but I turned it down for USC. I knew I wasn't going to get an acceptance "certificate" either way I don't think they even have those at UCSD. Oh well..those of you on the waiting list you guys have a better chance now!
