Hey everyone,

UCSF and CHO have been inching closer and closer for a while now, and there was some new news today indicating an even stronger union than what has been described before.

Does anyone have any idea if and how this will affect these two very different residency programs? I am an MS3 who is very interested in coming to the Bay Area for a peds residency, and I am curious as to what might happen over the next few years in terms of these two systems joining together.

thanks!

My $0.02:

During my interview earlier this year, it wasn't really brought up. I spoke about it to current residents, and it seems like it's mostly in name and may bring at most some research opportunities/joint conferences...but who knows! Things may have changed since January...but it seemed like it affected more the admin side of the hospital and not so much the training programs.
